CED 7000 Pro: Worth the Wait?

I'm looking for a timer and was considering the CED 7000/8000. I then saw that the CED 7000 Pro is coming out at the end of the month. Any thoughts on whether its worth the extra $50?

That's a pretty high end timer with alot of extra functions. Most of the guys I shoot with run a Pocket Pro, Pact, or the old CED 7000. I also have an old RUREADY timer (release button). It it's your first timer, I would go with a Pocket Pro.

My pocket pro from Freedom Gunworks has been going for over a decade. So...I'd say it's durable enough. The fancy CED is okay, but there's nothing that it can do, that I need, that a simple Pocket Pro can't do.

Maybe beneficial if you are running complex matches and have time to program the thing.

Maybe worth it if you just like to spend $ on the latest new toy.

I can't really see a benefit for the individual user over using a regular timer like the CED7000 or Pocket Pro or PACT. I have the CED7000, and love it.

I guess I would ask what your intended use is.

Just keep in mind the CED7000 has a rechargeable battery. If you are disciplined and good about that, it's a very handy and small timer w/ all the features that you would need for personal use. But I seem to see at least one per match run out of juice because their owners forget to recharge them beforehand!
