Yeah lots of details to the story. And bottom line my experience was not the best. Wish it were different and I feel a bit cheated.

We all have bad days - but my impression is that you mentioned this particular bad day (or couple of bad days) because you want other people to know you were dissatisfied with your Front Sight experience.

But it's only fair to share the full story - not just "I went to Front Sight and they were mean to me".

Otherwise, it seems like you're just using Calguns for blackmail material, e.g., "give me a refund or I'll post bad things about you on the internet", or just revenge.

I am willing to believe that you ran across a jerk who made your time at FS miserable. And I am also willing to believe that you're a jerk who made the last couple of days miserable for FS staff and the other students in your group. People do stupid things - it's just not clear yet who was stupid.

From your other post, it sounds like you may have brought malfunctioning equipment to train with. That may not be your fault - perhaps you thought your gun was working fine and it turned out not to be the case. That could happen to any of us. It does sound like you had a safety issue, and if FS told you that your gun was not welcome at FS until it was fixed, I think they made a good call. I sure don't want to go to a class and get shot by another student whose gun did something unexpected.

But a broken gun on your part isn't FS's fault, either. It sounds like they gave you a loaner to use, which was nice of them to do - not really their obligation, but a good way to make sure that you got to finish the class you paid & travelled for.

I am really curious what it was they didn't like that you were doing to their loaner gun. A gun (especially a range rental/loaner gun) is just a tool - but I try to be very careful when I borrow someone else's tools.

If you're going to complain, you really ought to tell us the full story, not just the "FS made me cry" part.

sounds like the guy show up with a high point .
and they told him he could not use it ,
and then someopne loaned him one and he mistreated it

I would put money on the fact that there was a problem with the op not the school

                    but with no specific details
I could write stories all day

I did a 3rd gen as well, and got a couple comments. The range master asked to shoot it, stuck 5 through 1 hole at 7 yds and said it shot pretty good. Wish I shot it that well....

My brother, two brothers-in-law and my father just got back from FS and their experience was totally opposite yours. WTF happened? I call shenanigans without proof.

                            Details:
First day malfunction with my gun, no problem, I won't use it... My group recognized the prob and I realize what it might have been, their "gun" guy showed me what it was doing.. I agreed not good. I told him I think I know what the problem is, it's the plunger spring. Him: not possible that could be causin the problem. I said okay. ( nice guy, helped me out but gave me wrong info; said the safety plunger spring should never be loose and should be replaced said the spring is sawdured onto the plunger and you have to buy the piece as a set. Recommended i replace it, i said okay trusting him. I called 11 gun stores in Vegas looking to replace it. None were open. I went back to hotel with three other friends (2 NRA instructors). We cleaned out weapons and diagnose my issue, there was a burr of brass in the firing spring and the firing well appeared to be very dirty, after a very thorugh cleaning. It was as good as new, fully functional when connected. Next morning first thing I did, requested the range instructor please try my firearm, he did, said no prob looks good. 2 hours later his assistant instructor ask if my gun was fixed and if he could check it, he also said it feels like it should, no prob. And hour later right before lunch nice "gun" man comes and ask me if he can check it and take it apart. He did and notice I didnt change the spring, ... (it was fully functional) Said I couldnt use my firearm. Arranged to provide me a loaner and went to see if there was a spring available. Offered me a loaner, I said ok but I don't think there's anything wrong with my gun, 2 people (instructors) said it was ok to shoot. Mind you this is the same guy that said oh no can't be the plunger springe, has to be your trigger (which I have never ever worked on, changed or polish) but he said it was done. Okay no prob, got loaner because he offered it, even though I could have used another one of the back ups, ... I said thank you and went back to the line, instructor then comes to me on the line and tells me, there is no swapping of parts, cleaning or armory with their loaners ( inferring I might take apart their gun to take a 2 dollar part) mind you I have two back up wepons in the car to use. If he would have pulled me out of the line, no problem I absolutely understand... But he did it on the line and in front of the other twenty people in class... Seemed accusatory and unnecesary. I felt at first like okay they were just doing their job and being safe, but after talking about it, researching the parts and talking to a glock armorer. I just felt the whole situation could have been more subtle and on more of a one to one conversation and not happened on the line.
I'm not a newbie, I'm not a pro either. I know when to step back and admit I am completely wrong, in this case I truly believe I was cordial and respected their wishes, in the end I was able to use my own firearm... With no problems. Which I am happy for. I do believe I will walk away with training knowledge I didn't have before or at least pick up reminders. However my first two days were not what I wish for anyone and I'm hoping my next two days will be better. But I will stand by my original comment and say I will not recommend to anyone. I think I can get the same training locally and be treated a lot better.
So for all of you that think it's my problem okay that's your opinion and it's my opinion how I feel about the training. We plan to discuss with superiors not in a *****y way but detailing the facts and our perspective of how things should have been handled.

good luck with you future training, lesson learned at frontsight 2 IS 1 AND 1 IS NONE
never go to gun fight OR class with one gun . I alway have a 2nd gun and $20 in spare parts in my range bag if I have any problem on the firing line with my gun in less than 1 minute I can have another gun ready. Every class I take at FS I see students that are not prepared because of their gun or wrong clothes for the weather or wrong equipment. this is the stuff you should get dialed in before you go out there so that you can feel confident with your equip. and concentrate on your gun handling skills BE PREPARED!! as far as the gun if you just broke down and bought one of those crappy GLOCKS you'ld never have a problem with your gun at a class again
when you fill out your class survey make sure you put the instructors/coaches names that you had your problems with they may be new there and need a *** whippin from managment and you can talk with Wess or Brad tomorrow re your problem they will take care of it sorry you had such a bad experience forget about it and go out and kick butt on day 3-4 put day 1-2 behind you and turn it into a great training trip
