    ...

Day two of a four day defensive handgun at Frontsight.... It has been two horrible days. I've had my gun taken and checked, harassed, accused of possible misuse of their loaner... Had misinformation given to me about my own gun. I will never come back nor refer this training to anyone.

Wow! I've always had an amazing time there. Not accusing you of anything, but the only time I have seen anyone be treated in any way other than extremely graciously is when they endangered themselves and others and ignored instructions to stop doing so.

Don't just take it. Talk to the head hancho for the school, tell him what is happening and request to be moved to a different section. One bad instructor does not reflect the entire school. But if you don't speak up to his bosses, then it won't get fixed.

My experiences have been so polar opposite of yours that I have to believe something odd is going on.

Wow is right...I've been to a few of the frontsight classes and have ALWAYS been treated with respect, and the training is fantastic.

FS always takes the gun to check safety function before class when you get there. As to the other things you say, that sounds unusual. More details?

There is not enough detail to form an opinion here, but from what little information you provided it sounds like you brought an unsafe firearm, and got upset when they insisted you use a loaner instead?

Like I said, the only time I have ever seen them be rude to somebody is when they repeatedly endangered others. If that is you...well...safety comes before people's feelings. If that is not you, then talk to management and give them the opportunity to correct the situation.

Agree with WOW. Description does not sound like FS at all. They bend over backwards to accommodate even the most "difficult" student.

I would like more info OP if you care to provide it. What was the gun you brought? What type of mis-information, who is the range master. FS was not going to let my wife shoot her new S&W 952 as they said the safeties were not functioning. They had never encountered a 952 and did not know that all the safeties were firing pin block type vice trigger or hammer block. They freaked when the hammer would fall with the safety on. I had to get the manual to show them the gun was working properly. If you are still there, see if you can be moved to Patty Walkers class. First class instructor in my book, but as others have said, I have never had a problem with any of them. I have had 5 different range masters, and learned something additional from each one, each time I attended.

I'm gonna go out on a limb that the OP is an uninformed newb, and/or with a junk gun, and/or is unsafe.

What gun did you bring, and what do they say is wrong with it? What don't they like about what you're doing with the loaner?

I attend FS a few times per year and I have had classes that were sold out and still had a great time. The only time I had a problem it was because I didn't check my ego at the door. I butted heads with an instructor who was trying to "instruct" and I wasn't listening to his method (which was right)....

I am sure the rest of your stay will be delightful...I really love going..Good luck!

it doesn't sound like the frontsight that I spend 20-30 days a year at. I've have 1 bad experience with a grumpy range master in a rifle class in feb we noted the problem on are survey at the end of the class I took another class in march and the range master was no longer working at fs.I would guess you broke the range safety rules they will politely correct you once if you do it again they will start barking at you if you continue they'll take your gun and give you a red gun to train with if you continue you'll be removed from the property
I just took a 2 day skill buider class in the end of nov. there's lots of new instructors and range masters but STILL A AWESOME PLACE TO TRAIN WITH WEAPONS

Been to FS 3 times this year. In those 3 trips, I never witnessed anything like the OP is outlining. I would, also, like to get more detailed information. If the OP has a legit beef, I would recommend speaking to a facility manager (Wes??) to get your grievances addressed. If that doesn't get you satisfaction, call their corporate headquarters.

This all seems so very out of character compared to my personal experiences at FS. I wonder what transpired??? Anyone have an open channel to one of the instructors to get some more info?

                              **EDIT**

Upon further investigation, I found this little jewel that might give us some insight: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...15#post5447115

At frontsight! I was excited and before the first day cleaned my glock before going to bed... I thought it was a pretty thorough cleaning... Snake down pipe, pulled apart firing pin and clean all Lil parts with hoppes... Took it to first range day, ... Did the hold and release drill...well my Lovely went close to full auto...it kept releasing the striker with my trigger down. Their smith took a lookie said it was so and so likely... Just brought it back and recleaned everything with krohl's and fresh as new!!! Couldnt believe my gun did that!!! Just shows how important a VERY thorough cleaning is.
