Mossberg press relase states that Jerry Miculek has signed with them to use their semi auto shot gun for 3 gun competition. They will be building a gun for 3 gun to give FN, Remington, and Benelli and run for their money. Going to get interesting.

Miculek signs with Mossberg
If you can't shoot good, at least look good shootingTags: None -
Yea,
I've read a few posts in regards to this very topic.
Lets see what comes about in regards to a new shotgun.
I will keep my ear to the ground.

Yeah, I read that Benny Hill's been experimenting with the Mossberg 930 to see what sort of slicked up packages he can put together for the platform!Comment

That's just what we need. A Super Squadder helping to bring more people into the sport. Thereby increasing the time it takes to shoot a Match...
I guess I have to put a semi auto shotgun on the wish list, now...Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...
I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.
Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

Unless Mossberg plans on attaching 2 930's together, they are a LONG way from touching the FN SLP... a REALLY loooong way...NRA Life Member and Certified Instructor: Pistol - Rifle - Shotgun - PPITH - PPOTH - NRA Certified RSO

I would suggest that some of you read some forum postings about the 930 over at Brian
Enos. That is the place where you will get the best information on competition shooting gear and firearms. Benny Hill, THE go to gunsmith on the Benelli, is working on the 930 now. Getting non ported barrels. Price point is to be about $600 less than his Benelli conversions. FN is a good gun but still needs modifications to run in 3 gun competition, lifter needs welding up and loading gate opened up, and is heavy. No factory pistol grip stock as of yet. I was told by FN at the 3 Gun Nationals, that it would be this fall. I have seen the FN have issues at matches also. Best out of the box shotgun I have seen is the Remington 1100 Competition Master. It just does not last without work and maintenance. Or the 1187 that JP Rifles set up for 3 gun. They don't offer it anymore. A shooting buddy of mine has run his 5 years without a single problem. Never has jammed or misfed. He does keep it very clean. Remington is harder to load weak hand than the others. Not a problem if you are loading strong hand as in "the Cooley Flip".
So far best set up I have seen is the Salient Arms Benelli. A true work of art.
Light weight, action is the smoothest I have ever worked in a shotgun. Bolt is lightened. I am waiting to shoot it to see if the recoil is that much more of a difference than the gas shotguns. But it is a high dollar choice, $2,000.00. Conversion is done in SoCal.Last edited by 3GunFunShooter; 11-04-2010, 7:47 PM.If you can't shoot good, at least look good shootingComment
