Tactical Carbine Courses - Intl. Students

    Hello All,

I've come here as a last resort and would like some persepective in my issue.

I want to do a one of those multi day carbine courses that seem to be offered by a mutitude of providers in the US. I would love to do a tactical driving couse too. However, I am an Australian citizen, and do not hold any citizenship or green card for the US.

Blackwater USA offer exactly what I want to do, but they have turned my down as they only allow US citizens to enrol.

I have emailed a number of other training schools all offereing courses similar to Blackwater with pretty much not even a reply.

Any ideas? Anyone know of a course provider that would allow my to participate?

I am licenced in Australia for a range of firearms right upto semi auto centerfires. I am also a sworn general duty state police officer.

I only wish these courses were offered in Australia or even legally possible.

    Many thanks in advance.

      Try here WWW.TFTT.com
I have seen Brasilians, Belgiums, Brits, Danes, Norwegians, Kiwis etc come through.

The biggest problem is that you are not allowed to take possession of a firearm, or ammunition, in the US.
It would be pretty hard to complete a firearms related class without being in possession of a firearm...
There are some ways for a non-immigrant alien to possess firearms while in the US (like getting a hunting license from a US state), so figure out that part first and I'm sure you'll be able to find a class sooner or later.

Thanks for all the replies so far. Great insight.

I had no idea a non-ommigrant alien could use a firearm. I'll get in touch with TFTT and see how we go.

Oh, with the M10, that thing would probably cost a good 10,000AUD as the same balpark figure for any semi auto in this country. I tried to buy an AR15 the other week but had to leave is they were asking 10,000 or 12,000 for an AR10.

Thanks for all the replies, got a few good leads now.

I actually got an email back from THOR Defence (http://www.thortraining.com/) who have offered to have me enrolled. They even offered to fly over and do the training locally if I can get enough interest.

You could take a look at Redback One -- Jason Falla is an Aussie though in the states now, perhaps he comes back home from time to time.

+1 for ITTS. First rate instruction from one of the most experiences and reputable instructors around. Plus you can rent our weapon from them. They are based in LA area but train around the US and in Europe. Most classes I have been to have had active duty police and military attending the classes.

                      +1 ITTS as well.

I know they have trained in Canada and I believe Germany. So I'm sure they have a policy in place for teaching international students. Great instructors by the way! Also they have their own private facility which allows them to teach everything they would like to.

I've taken a course at International Tactical, great instructors.
With all this "gun control" talk, I've not heard one politician say how they plan on taking guns from criminals, just law abiding Citizens.
