Does anyone post in the Brian Enos forums?

Does anyone here post in the Benos forums, particularly the 3-gun forums? Just asking. I have seen TMC and gose on there. HI guys!

It would be good for us (with some practical knowledge of 3-gun) to post on there and encourage beginning 3-gunners in CA of the good news of using OLL's (that are built in legal configs of course) in competition.

I just saw a post about using AR's that're OLL's in 3-gun and there was some "negativity" from the non-CA posters and even from one in-state poster. I'd think we'd get some encouragement from them, but NO!

Yes, I do post there occasionally, just like I do on a few other forums

I'm in there on rare occasion. I read it in order to try and learn more about reloading... nothing substitutes for years of personal experience, like digesting other peoples' years of personal experience.

I post over there when there is a topic I can post about, be it reloading, ipsc/uspsa rules, revolver, 3-gun, etc. It's one of the "regularly read" boards I post to/read.

Brian has a ban on anything even remotely political so anything about loopholes or gray areas concerning gun laws is usually canned as soon as the mods see the post. This is most likely where the "negativity" comes from.

Enos is the best forum for all shooting information I have found.
Many detailed questions and answers for most all shooting competitions.
CalGuns and Enos are the 2 sites I check every day and sometimes more.

Brian's forum attracts action shooters from all over the world, the number of round fired by that group could only be outdone by the military. The best handgun and 3-gun shooters in world post there and thier information is invaluable. You can get info there for free mot people pay good money for in shooting classes. If you want to know what work's and what doesn't that's the place to look. If you've thought about it someone on that forum has probally already tested it.

Just to avoid the almost certain "they don't know what works in the "real world" like Joe Tactical" comments that are sure to come, yeah they don't talk about "real life" how to kill the bad-guys in a dark alley type of shooting but if reliable guns and fast-accurate shooting is what you're after it's the place it go.
                where are my pistol mags?

OLL's aren't really practical in 3 gun. It would take forever to load it 4 times in a stage. A much better choice is M1A or an accurized mini.

To promote 3 gun in CA. for new shooters there will have to be a 10 round class, Cal class, Production class or whatever you want to call it.

10 round rifle, 10 pistol, limited shotgun is obtainable, but maybe limit it to a HD type shotgun 6 round.

                        Just a thought.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

Surely you're not talking about a gripless build? An OLL with detachable mag will be faster to reload than a mini or M1A. Without high caps you're pretty much screwed anyway though.
Why would we wanna limit shotgun? USPSA rules already has 8 round mag limit for standard and 10 for open, so I dont see why we would have to limit it further in California. The things we cant have are folding stocks and detachable mags, but those are rarely used anyway.

What do you do with your pistol? If you don't have fat mags for it you'll still be at a disadvantage.

I haven't shot an AR without a pistol grip so I can't say how well they would work.
I was just thinking of a class that everybody could get in without spending lots of cash use equipment they already have.

Lots of people have HD shotguns a rem 870 or 1100 something like that comes with 6 and 1. You wouldn't have to spend $60 to $100 for equipment.
If your shotgun doesn't hold 8/10 rounds you will be at big disadvantage.

I was thinking of it as a starter class compete against like equipment.

See if you like the sport if so then put down the $$ and get proper equipment.

                            Good luck

I'm for anything that would get more people into the sport, don't get me wrong on that. However, someone getting into 3 gun would still need three firearms + equipment, and spending an additional $60 to get a mag extension doesn't seem like a big deal to me. I'm not religious about it, so if limiting it to six rounds would get us a bunch of new shooters, why not?
