Help - Any Bay Area/ Peninsula Events?

    Hi Everyone-

Just looking for anyone or a group around the Bay Area that has 2/3 gun events or any advance training courses. I reached out to action pistol but their email bounced.

    Thanks in advance

Which action pistol club did you contact?

I know that Solano Targetmasters and Hotshots in Richmond are still holding matches and Diablo Action Pistol just posted in their FB group that they have a match coming up soon.

For Targetmasters, you might want to contact Yolo Sportsman or Richmond Rod and Gun to see when classes are for action pistol, which is required by the clubs in the area.

Thanks for the reply, I reached out to this one: http://actionpistolclub.com/about_apc.html

I think I am going to call them next. Are there any club websites or forums I can check out? Just trying to find something other than range time to get outside and meet people in the community.

Thanks, so there are no competitive shooting anywhere around here? What about steel shoots?

                Practiscore FTW

Here is a link to all the USPSA/IDPA/Steel Challenge matches held in Richmond, Linden, Morgan Hill and Oakdale. You'll need to register with Practiscore in order to attend any of these matches. Good luck!

                Regards,
                Mike

I’m interested in getting involved in something better than stationary shooting and waiting 3 seconds between shots.

I just joined USPSA and says I’ll need to complete either there, or a sister ranges, competition orientation/training course. They’re completely booked so I looked into Solano Targetmaster but I’m not seeing any info on them. Does anybody have any advice? I’m in Sonoma County BTW.

Try Linden. Thats where I went for my nephew's intro to USPSA as Richmond fills up quickly months ahead.

I’m one of the RO’s for APC. Here’s the eventbrite link for the rest of our 2023 shoots.

Just show up on a shoot day for Group 1 with a handgun in working order, a good OWB holster (kydex not nylon), at least two mag pouches (4 is better) and 4 mags. We shoot on the 200yd range at Metcalf. After attending Group 1 twice, don’t scare us and pass a qualification shoot, you jump up to group 2 where we run and gun.

Unless you get a USPSA card, Richmond may want you to go through their orientation anyway. They want to make sure you're safe.

Richmond accepts courses from their sister ranges:
Richmond Hotshots will accept the completion and PASSING of courses from the following USPSA ranges:

Sacramento Valley Shooting Center (Sacramento, CA) - Any of the USPSA Introductory courses offered there

El Dorado Defensive Pistol (El Dorado, CA)

                          Solano Targetmasters (Davis, CA)

Linden Competitive Shooting Club (Linden, CA)

Please look at their respective websites for contact information at those ranges.

I would assume so, but I think that?s separate from a ?New to Competitive Shooting? style course.

You basically need to be a member of Target Masters to shoot their match. They open registration in an ordered manner. 1-Member CRO's, 2- Member RO's, Members, then public. They are almost full after member RO's with a few slots for members. You would need to be qualified at another range or have a classification in USPSA to shoot there as an public attendee. Also, they only run 1 match a month. As compared to Richmond which runs two matches a month for USPSA.
