I'm considering being a Nevada member, but the wife is vehemently against the idea.

That being said, it is sad to see Front Sight go away. I've been attending courses there for almost 10 years now and the lessons learned and friendships made on the gravel with the staff and fellow students is something I shall always cherish .

The last 5 years I had the opportunity to be an Instructor at FS and can honestly say it was one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done in my professional career. From shooting courses with fellow calgunners to Instructing some of their classes, it was always a pleasure to meet some of you and to give back to the 2A community through a facility like Front Sight.
I am proud of the time I spent there teaching students and that is what I will remember most about Front Sight. I feel a bit sad if I'm being honest knowing I've worn that uniform for the last time but I am grateful for the thousands of students I and we as a staff had the opportunity to work with.

Hopefully the new owners can build upon what Front Sight started and take this facility to then next level!
Maybe I'll even still see a few of you out there in a class as we enjoy our 2 years of reduced fees.

I'd imagine at this point there's no real reason for the court Not to approve this. Under it's current structure the business was insolvent and this is probably the better route to go versus liquidating what was left to attempt to repay the creditors.

Interesting...I just looked and my last email was also 9/1

I found out why, 9/1 IP agreed to give PF 100% interest in what was FS. The agreement is in place and all that would need to happen is for the court to give approval. The "final order" being lo later than 12/1. Its in document 339 on pg 3.

Will we get a farewell letter from IP?

I just checked my FS folder. 9/1 was the last day and only got 1 e mail. Before that it looks like I got 4 e mails a day. Ohhh....I didn't vote but if I did it would have been no.

While I agree with you (why would I pay a yearly membership fee and initial fee and then on top of that have to pay a daily fee?!), keep in mind just because someone does or did something professionally doesn't automatically mean they are a good teacher/instructor.

I've found that people who have a skill that came fairly naturally to them in many cases may not be the best instructors and have a hard time relating to students who have a harder time grasping and understanding those skills. That's because they can't really relate why something is hard for others that came so easy for them. I could care less if you're ax ex-whatever and care more about how well you can relate and convert what you've learned in a palatable way that allows me to understand and grasp.

My last FS class was taught by an ex-SEAL, a Range Master 1. He was not the best FS instructor but he was still learning, so I'll give him the benefit of doubt, but my wife swears she won't train with him again if the opportunity arises. He even forgot to announce who DGed the class and just handed out the certificates.

Probably not best to spread rumors. Not saying it is or isn't true, but because "someone on my wife's FB thread said so" probably isn't something to be telling others unless you can fact check it.

Item# 144 in the publicly available FS Bankruptcy case filed 06/17/2022 with the Court attesting that the Lender "is not an insider of the Debtor (FS) or any other affiliate or related entity" and "has no other connection with the Debtor (FS), the Debtor's Bankruptcy estate , or any other entity related to the Debtor."

I have no inside information, just reviewing the actual court documents.

Eagle I believe that could be easily explained with the similarities.
Maybe due to the size of the current membership to FS lends credibility to how IP structured it.
The tiers makes sense from those with greater means and wish to pay for it.
I would imagine it would be hard to factor in the popularity of FS due to basically free attendance. Obviously that drew in shooters readily.
It seems like the path to greater success is greater credibility. Hence all the face shooters and command staff. You will need this in an effort to earn trust from your student/client pool.
I believe we all can admit there needs to be more cost to attend in some fashion.

There must be loads of financials that support this early fee structure. There could be enough current members who have already demonstrated they will pony up at the current prices.

What IP created with that location deserves respect for sure. Quite a undertaking and I am sure he suffered many detractors over his business plan.
The day to day operations from a members view was of a highly polished and professionally ran organization.

Going forward it would be insanity to change much of that member perception.

I have to think they believe enough people will willingly join to be taught the high speed/low drag stuff. Independent of those same members understanding what the physical demands can be.
Who cares if they never take the super advanced tier one face shoot off course. Their point is they can if they want to since they paid for the privilege.

Todd Jarrett appears very approachable. Reaching out to him could lend some credibility beyond a picture on a web site.

Looking at the PF stuff, I think they'd have to do some very serious marketing to make it. The whole Texas thing is pie in the sky at this point - I ran a search and got nothing. Anyone else know anything more on the Texas stuff?

ETA: looking at the pics - are all those people truly involved (owners) in this? Looks like it would be pretty complicated for that many people, based on what I've seen happen in business. Staff structure could get a little difficult trying to keep everyone happy even if all are not owners.

Well, that may be true.

I'm no expert on the FS / PF drama.

Just passing on what I've heard, I'm sure there are others out there that are more knowledgeable about this.

All I can say is if you are thinking of joining PF.....stay in "Condition Yellow!"
