In the begining of SASS and IDPA all the good shooters were from USPSA. They were practiced and knew how to work the rules. I think only Dave Savigney (sp) started in IDPA and then started shooting USPSA. It might have been somebody else and not Dave.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory. -
I think Bob Vogel and Dave Olhasso also started in IDPA. Additionally, one of the best up-and-coming shooters in the nation, Donnie Burton, shoots IDPA exclusively.My friends and family disavow all knowledge of my existence, let alone my opinions.Comment

I'm sure you are correct I don't follow IDPA very close any more.
IMHO you have to shoot USPSA to be considered one of the best shooters in the country. There's not much room for creativity in IDPA and that takes away one aspect of the shooting game.
