Hey Guys,

I have every intention of having a match this weekend. I hope the weather will cooperate with us. I have been keeping a close eye on it and it looks like we might get lucky. I think I saw something about the rain on Saturday and again on Sunday in the afternoon, I guess we will have to wait and see. Stay tuned to this forum for more info as the weekend approaches.

As for the stages, I am making them a little longer than normal, trying to get everyone ready for SMM3G. A lot of rifle in this match, I believe there is something like 100+ rounds if you don't miss any and thats figuring one shot per long range target. You can view the stages at www.x3multigun.com you have to log on to the site to see this months stages, but that ain't no big deal.

randy and participators, i'm gonna make it out finally. picked an iffy day to go too huh with the rain and all. well it's my first match and i hope i don't hold things up too bad! i'll be there with possibly one or two other noobs. look forward to meeting shooters, learning and having some fun!

im another noob that will be there this weekend. Went out to last months match to watch my brother shoot his first match, and caught the fever. Its been a LONG month waiting for this weekend, hope we dont get rained out!

I hope this match goes through.
My other two matches for the weekend have already dropped out due to weather concerns, Action Pistol at WEGC and Precision Rifle at APS.
I've got raingear and I'm not afraid to shoot in the rain...

re: your raingear... Do you use rain pants & a rain jacket? How do you deal with your belt gear (holster, mags, shotgun carriers)?

I have a set of lightweight rain jacket & rain pants, and am trying to figure out how to use my belt gear with the pants. The rain pants are supposed to go over regular pants and do not have belt loops. Do you just cinch them up just under the waist line of your regular pants?

In December I shot the action pistol match at West End in the rain and there were some good downpours. I wore the rain jacket but not the rain pants and that was a mistake as my jeans got soaked...

On matches where we walk around all day, I just wear a jacket over all my gear.
On sniper matches where we lay on the ground, we don't wear anything on our belts so you wear pants too.

Suspenders will hold those rain pants up and you can route the suspenders under your belt to keep everything outside of the rain pants.

Hey Guys,

I'm back..... I have been watching the weather closely like I said in an earlier post, and the good news is the weather man is finally getting on board with the match and giving me the report that Ive been looking for.

Both MSN and Yahoo are calling for a break in the weather from Saturday morning until Sunday afternoon, just enough time to get the match in and get out.

As for the condition of the range, the crossing is good, and the landowner is going to do a little grading for me to get rid of any puddles.
The range is largely made up of sandy river bottom so it drains very well, and there should be very little mud if any at all.

On another note,

BREAKFAST WILL BE AVAILABLE!!!!

Our cook will be out at the range on Saturday for a cowboy event, and will be spending the night. He has agreed to cook breakfast on Sunday for anyone that would like it. A breakfast burrito & coffee or juice for only $5.00 what a deal!

So don't let the little bit of weather that we just had spoil a great day of shooting and another great 3-gun match.

Sammy and Crew

Great stages, great weather and LOTS OF ROUNDS going down range. Best stage was #1 having the option to engage targets with either the pistol or shotgun, the design worked out very well. All the stage designs made the shooter decide on how best to complete the COF. It seemed to me at least on my squad everyone shot most of the stages a different way.

Another great match put on my Sammy and the X3 group. The big matches could take a lesson from the quality stages Sammy is designing. Great Job Sammy. Oh and breakfast for 5 bucks was a smoking deal I hope he's there next month.

I had a great time shooting with a couple of new shooters and some old friends that haven't been out in awhile. I think the new shooters are hooked and looking forward to the next match.
Mike and Mark were the new shooters and they were using a bullet button on their rifles and had a great tool to drop the mag worked well and didn't cost much which makes it great. The BB is slower but better than I thought. If you have it on your gun you can be competitive with it.
