RCBS Turret press experience?

Anyone have experience with rcbs turret press? PSA has press available for $275 otd with accessories. I'm currently using rock chuker not sure if it is worth the upgrade. Calguns feedback is appreciated.

I use one a lot...and am thinking about getting something else, maybe a lock n load single stage with quick change bushings. It works just fine, and I'm able to make precise ammo, buy I just don't like having the turret head rock that little bit while loading. If I had a few more turret heads, and never had to reset dies for the bunches of calibers I load, I'd like it more?

It'll get the job done, and I got a screaming deal on it as a blem/second direct from their shop in Oroville. Happy with it, but not ecstatic.

It is RCBS so it can not be THAT bad. I think several turrets have a little bit of play in them, I THOUGHT it was to compensate for being able to overcam or something, but I could be wrong.

It is a nice turret, but not nearly as cheap nor as fast as the Lee Classic Turret that is cast iron and costs about $110

I am in the same boat as you Jim. My dad and uncles have used rock chuckers and I like the color green and so I bought this turret. I am also wondering why there are not more out there. I figure they have a great warranty and i am not trying to put a bullet in the same hole at 1000 yrds and elk and deer at 500yrds so if it flexs a tiny bit Im not too worried, but then again i have no experience with the turret as I just got it in the mail.

I have two turrets, one is brown, the other is orange. When forming cases I found the turret to be useful. I am not sure about the flexing on the brown one. I also have a two ram press that I found helpful when forming cases. Is handy when two dies are necessary in the forming process.

I use an RCBS Turret press for rifle cartridges. I was lucky and came across a guy selling the press with 4 turrets. I have the turrets set up for 7X57, 30-06 and 30-30. The fourth one was set up for 223 but I have since transferred that operation to a Dillon 450.

I like the press overall, but there are a couple of things that potential owners may want to know.

The turrets have 6 holes and that comes in handy. I load cast bullets as well as jacketed so I can have a neck sizing die as well as a full length sizing die along with an expander die for the lead bullets, then a powder drop station and crimper.

The turrets do have some vertical flex. Each turret had a different amount of vertical play. I went to Grainger and bought a $6 set of arbor shims and selected the proper thickness of shim for each head. That particular shim stays with it's assigned turret, no more excessive flex. A cheap and easy fix.

I tend to not prime on the press. The priming system works okay, I've seen worse, but there are missing/broken parts to the priming system which leads me to RCBS customer service, or lack there of.

In the past year I have called RCBS twice with a list of parts that I need to complete the priming system. Both times I had my credit card ready to pay for the parts and the shipping. Both times I was told by RCBS that there would be no charge and the parts would go out the next day. I am still waiting.

Overall I really like the press.

P.S. Please don't come back at me to tell me how wonderful RCBS customer service has been to you. Such comparisons are meaningless and a waste of time.
