    Rcbs X die help

I am a little unclear on the die use so I Do a FL resize with the die Then trim back. .020 from the 1.750 then load shoot and the 2nd time around adjust the mandrel to keep the neck back adjusting the die for the X function and checking for bulge?

I say READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CLOSELY.

      I type that too apparently.

It sounds like you have at least read the directions for the FIRST time use, but I have not gotten beyond that yet.

I read those things like 12 times and am still not sure I got it right. I full length sized, trimmed .020 short, reloaded, shot and when I resized got some bulge with the x-die.

I have the same dies but have not used them yet either.
but according to the video above F/L size but back out the center shaft two full turns after you feel it seated. then trim .020 under the max length which is 1.760 for .223/.556.
then shoot and re F/L size.
I myself would check the OAL of the case and set it to the mininum length for
.223 and let the case stretch to that length.

watch the video a few times.
maybe search youtube for more videos.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

I trim mine before the first use and have not had to trim after 6-7 loads so they seem to be working.
