22 TCM- is it worth it?

So for another SSE I am thinking between a RIA 9mm/22 TCM double stack and a Micro AK pistol.

Anyone load for 22 TCM? Is it WORTH it?

They look cool and all, but damn, I dunno. I don't have to have a 5.7 killer...

I just started loading for it, the dies are pretty expensive. As for if it's worth it or not, I'm still undecided on that one.

I dont own one but was thinking about getting one also. IMO if you are going to buy the 22 tcm, you should reload for it. The price and availability of the ammo is not the best. Reloading for that caliber would pay off rather quickly if you plan on shooting it alot. The main reason I chose not to buy one is the magizines. Hard to find and I believe only made by one company at the moment. Mix that with its a 17 round magazine, means its even harder to get in the great state of CA.

Price wise, it is worth it, you can definitely load it a lot cheaper than buying factory. Right now, it just seems like a lot more work compared to other rifle rounds, but then again, I am making 22tcm brass out of 223 brass right now.

re magazines -- the single stack 10-round variants just because available. Mags are in the $40 range, no mods needed. Ammo is $0.40/round ish, so reloading is almost mandatory if you're used to 9mm prices.

Makes a hell of bang, has very little recoil, and mine feels quite accurate. I haven't benched groups on any of my pistols though, so that doesn't mean much. I'd recommend -- worst case, it becomes a decent 9mm 1911.

This could be either or as far as forums are concerned. So Ban back to YOU Bumslie SIR! BAN BAN BAN! In fact, PFFFT!

              I am asking from a reloader's standpoint.

BTW, have a look at the P-18 mags (10 round) for the double stack variants.

I am not sure of any load data for this pistol, but I heard the brass or loaded ammo was a tad cheaper than the 300 aac.

I am not sure of the brand of dies out there for it either but I might consider getting it if it looks like powder and pills and all are a match.

Else I might decide to go with an STI or something. I gotta get my last SSE in and I am deciding between an AK pistol/ STI/ 22 TCM...

What kind of powder is good? Long shot? Blue dot? H-110?

                Here you go, http://www.ammosupplywarehouse.com/c...&category=TCM0

That's where I bought dies and components from. Lee use to make a set of dies, but only Hornady does now. The recommended powders are h110 or w296.

Wow. I am looking at that link and see the brass and I am like, DAMN! That is a decent price! Then I see the rounds and think, not too shabby, then I see the die set and I am like, WTF?

Thanks for that link. If I get a TCM, I WILL be buying at least brass from this site.

I had the same reaction when I saw the price for the dies.

just bought the dies, what can you do?just one choice.
some have used lil gun powder, but reports are it runs hot. h-110 is the most popular. gotta find some quick.
btw, addax tactical has the single and double stack guns in stock

I take it they are SSE already?

Imma look cause I aint thrilled about a $719+ shipping + SSE + transfer price for ANY RIA and I do not care if it has a cool magwell and full rail, I am NOT happy about that...

Oh damn. They are not an option for me. I do not care for 8hrs of driving...

They look farther then going to EBR. Maybe one day I will take a drive over there to check them out, maybe to check out some PHO palces in the area too, but even thought their prices are good, they are not good enough to draw me from OC Armory. OC Armory has been an awesome place once I figured out how to play the game with them.

Maybe I should settle for the $589 or cheaper from Buds...

well, they say they don't charge for sse but @ $799 plus tax and dros it was a little high. but convenient at least for me, i just got the dies, brass and bullets on the way and some further research on lil gun says 10 grs. should yield 2050 FPS + or - .good thing i got 4 lbs. of the stuff. load 17 hornet too.
