i cut the end off a heavy screwdriver and made the end concave with a dremel.brass might be a better way to go

I'm going to hazard a guess that neither of you guys have ever had to remove a broken off wooden dowel that was wedged in a barrel by someone trying to clear a stuck bullet.

On the flip side, I have never had someone show up with a brass rod that was stuck in the barrel...

You are correct sir. The dowels I bought fit pretty tight in my Glock barrels, so I never gave much thought to it getting wedged in there. Unfortunately, I've had to use my dowels on 2 different occasions, so far so good. I can definitely see the merit in spending a couple extra bucks for a brass rod though.

With all the crap we had stuck down an AR barrel one day at stealea peaeke we could have started a bon fire...
