    Red is the new black

picked up a sampling of Redline Ballistics powder coated bullets at the match yesterday. I'll see how well they run against the Bear Creeks next Saturday. Also going to check out Black Bullets International. One of the guys was running their 200 grain 40S&W on top of 3.3 grains of Clays and making major, no smoke or fumes, looked like he was shooting a .22LR

For those people who feel like they didn't make a big enough mess smelting lead and casting bullets they can now make an even bigger mess powder coating.

Be sure to ask your doctor if depression, rectal bleeding, and suicide are right for you.

^^They said it wouldn't last too long
They'll eat their words with a fork and spoon
And watch 'em they'll hit the powder and all be PC-in' soon
And when they catch a clue they'll be sittin' on top of the world

FYI no leading, can use virtually any sort of lead (even pure lead), as little as $3.99 for the powder + a toaster oven from Goodwill as your total investment for coating many thousands of bullets.

Nothing to do with cool. Powder coated bullets are not supposeded to lead up and they are the same price as moly coated. It's so I can reduce my lead exposure without spending more than double the dollars for total jacketed bullets. I would expect accuracy to be the same as moly. When you run 1,500+ rounds a month it adds up.

wait until the media sees just one photograph of the red bullets...

They will start calling them things like "Bambi blood bullets"..."pro communist red bullets"..."anti communist killing blood bullets"...
"bullets that purposely make Bulls mad"...etc.

                  ;-)

but it does beg the question, if you could make bullets any color you like which color would you choose?

I'm thinking green, so they can't be found on a grassy knoll... wait maybe someone already thought of that.

                  just joking.

How hard (relative to plain lead or copper plated bullets) is it to clean the barrels after shooting powder coated?

Also, can anyone here instruct me regarding the "potential nastiness" (health-wise) of shooting powder coated bullets and inhaling powder coating dust? Sorry if that seems to basic, I'm just not familiar with powder coating. <edit: I just noted below that Carcassone already addressed part of this question in his post below. Can anyone add any more to what he wrote?>

                    Regarding the 2nd Amendment:
"...to disarm the people ― that was the best and most effectual way to enslave them." George Mason ("The Father of the Bill of Rights")

                    Regarding Life and Death:
"Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28

The BIG question: "What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ?" Matthew 27:22b

They make a Teflon powder coating. I do not know if it is beneficial or not.

I am still skeptical about using powder coating on bullets. Some of the pigments can contain toxic substances that may be released by the heat and pressure of combustion. Lead will eventually be flushed from the body, but some toxic elements such as Chromium and Cadmium will not.

For those that think Chromium and Cadmium are not used in pigments, please research pigment chemistry first before bashing me.

I've never used PC pills before. And, I have a stupid question:
Doesn't PC'ing the pills change the dimensions?

Not to derail you thread, but a quick question:

I have several powder coated bullets with HF red, and resizing them is very difficult and sometimes removes some of the powder coat entirely. Suggestions? I am using LEE 230gr tumble allox bullet mold, and the LEE .451 sizer.
