Powder recommendations for .357 rifle

I ordered these on Monday and they were on the porch
when I arrived home tonight. Great service.
I'm going to try and hot rod these 180gr solids to see if there
up to doing a little piggy slapping in my 357max.

The slower the powder which obtains max pressure will produce the most benefit of the longer barrel. With Jacketed bulets, H110, AA#9, 300MP are good bets.

For plinking I use 38 special cases, lead SWC and Blue Dot cuz I have alot of it. Unique, 800X, etc. are also good choices for plinking while still using the longer barrel benefit.

I'm using 18gr of 4227 with 125gr FMJ Berry's Bullets out of my Henry Big Boy and my S&W Model 60 Pro, I've been very happy with the results and get great accuracy from both at their respective target ranges (75-100 for the rifle and 5-15 for the revolver).

I've been using 2400 to load cast bullets for revolver, lever, and single shot rifle with much success.

After reading JagerDog's post it jogged my memory.
What I have noticed in my mid range 357 loads with the 2400.
Shooting out of a rifle length barrel, I get complete
burn of powder. Out of a 686 4" I have some residual unburnt.
Not much, but enough to notice.

Check out Hodgdon little gun data, low pressure with high velocities if I remember right

I have a Marlin 1894C (16" barrel) and have had good results with Accurate #9 and X-Treme plated bullets.

i have used vitvhouri N-110 in a 16" handi rifle with 125 gr jhp. chrono at over 1900 fps and 1.5" groups at 100 yds 19.3 grains YMMV

I have really started liking blue dot in my .357 loads. 12.0 gr of blue dot behind a 125 gr xtreme is a nice shooting round.
