Loading for Henry .45 Colt

My original intent of this post was to find some data in the "middle ground". There is plenty of data on cowboy loads (Too soft) and then on the opposite extreme end of ruger / contender loads. (Too hot)

by "A little less mild" I was looking for data less powerful than the 23.5gr of H110 which was the minimum starting load which I tried.

For an in betweener load, 2400 works great. I shot a lot of 2400 before I ran out of it, now its like unicorn babies to find. I think I have a load recorded still if I can find it.

Yeah I know Henry says its ok. But looking inside a Henry receiver and shooting Ruger loads make me nervous. My ugly mug is ugly enough as it is lol. Not saying anyone should do the same, just not for me.

And I don't begrudge you that choice in any fashion. At the same time, I wouldn't worry about something between. There's little reason (IMHO) for a steady diet of hot stuff anyways. There will however be limited published data for say 20 kpsi loadings.
