      A simple question

I have never shot at a range like this.

How do they do the cease fire and make safe so people can check and / or post their targets.

A simple question ... that is my point. I am curious. That is all.

You do not need to answer this question if you wish.

Like at a range but most of the time less organized, the first time i went out it was a weekend, and during the first cease fire there was one person who was ignorant to the fact people were walking down range and got a few rounds off before people started yelling at them, thus one of the reasons I like to go during weekdays I find the people more knowledgeable to proper range rules, there never to many people on weekdays so its easier to talk to them and make sure its safe before you walk down range, before I start shooting again I like to do a head count. and asking if the range is clear

The public range in Carson City is unsupervised and people will go any wheat from 15 to 30 minutes between cease fires. Once called, you stay away from the bench and go down range. There are always a few who hang back. Rifle side is always more civilized.

Alright where can I get the shirt?

Chased a few people off my brass before. Only once did I have to raise my voice, he pretended not to hear me and tried to come back when I was not looking. When I boot stompped his picker upper he high tailed it out of there.

Few others came over and thanked me. Guess the guy is shady and will do anything he could to get your brass assuming no one would really confront him.

I don't understand. You take your son to the range with the intention of picking up other peoples spent brass.

And your bent out of shape because someone else is there picking up the brass?

you sir have poor critical thinking skills and need to re-read my post to understand I was mad, grumpy, perturbed, at the fact my son was snubbed from doing what he likes to do cause some rude people didn't have the decency to let a few cents in scrap go to a 3 year old. I have my own brass and would not shoot anything else threw my guns that has not been recorded in my log books. I do have friends that ask for rounds and don't mind using pick up, and every once and awhile there is another reloader at the range that shoots a certain round that i have no need for so guess what they get the brass he picks up, if some one is shooting .223/5.56 and says I reload it dont pick it up, before we leave I sort out all the .223/5.56 and give it to him. I go to the range with the intent on shooting the brass is for my son and his saftey cause when he has a box of brass to put in the teddy bear, he is going to be occupied and not running around. THE BRASS IS MINE ALL MINE

Use a brass catcher if you shoot semi-autos. You can buy them or make one out of a pool leaf net from Lowe's and a 2"x4" -- your brass will never hit the ground and be lost or picked up by a vulture before it stops rolling.
Sac Valley allows you to pick up your own brass, but not general range brass. This is only because there would be people out in front of the firing line for a half hour picking through the brass. This is unsafe and rude to other shooters.
You can go sort through and buy range brass from the brass point for $3 a pound which is about scrap prices, but picking up range brass is more about safety and range time than who gets which brass.

Yes I failed to understand this sentence which I read to mean you were upset because people were picking up brass.

"First I'll start it off with does this bother any other reloaders, people that are out there just to get brass and sell it."

And this one which I assumed referred to someone else's brass.

"That was the first chip on the shoulder as one person left, they left some .223 case on the ground so I said look brass do you want to put it in teddy"

Which is why I was wondering why you were upset about other people collecting brass when you were teaching your son the same thing.

As for the other subject I agree 100% NOBODY should be rude to a 3 year old.
