    Go to Arf.com

    Read the posts there

There is a Wolf Ammo and Anti-Wolf Ammo religion their and they wage war against each other from time to time till someone gets banned then the shooting dies down for a while.

I shoot wolf, but it is not perfect. Maybe 3 MOA for the cheap stuff (1 MOA of that is me and my rifle).

    It smells funny (ammonia?)

It dirties the rifle, in particular the chamber so that those AR's with tight chambers can become problematic (the pro wolf ammo zealots say to just shoot it more to brake it in).

The bit about the thick red goo they put on their primer for sealant has gummed up my bolt (firing pin, extractor, ejector) but that was a while ago. Have not had that problem lately and supposedly this was addressed by wolf with a new primer sealant. Maybe so. You can also get the wolf without the primer sealant so maybe that is what they meant.

The two things you can say about wolf is that its a lot cheaper (for their cheap brands) and that it is not consistent as they have steel core, lead core, copper jacket, bi-metallic jacket, steel case lacquer, improved steel case polymer, and so on and so on. It is all mixed and matched. For instance the yellow box line was lead/copper jacketed for a while then they decided to switch to bimetallic so it attracted a magnet. Also some are now coming without the red goo primer sealant, and so on and so on. Also by reviews at Arf.com the case size, powder charge and velocities are inconsistent from round to round in the same lot.

Great cheap shooting grade ammo, also gives you a chance to learn how to clean your rifle often. You learn the importance of solvent and the chamber brush as that cures most ills caused by Wolf ammo.

At Arf.com seems like half the folks having problems with their AR are inexperienced shooters trying to save a dime buying Wolf ammo then crying, complaining, stamping their feet, belly aching, and throwing a tantrum when they start having problems with their rifle. They will swear it is not the wolf ammo they are shooting and that they cleaned their rifle with the cleaning kit (the universal type without the chamber brush) and are insistent at using wolf ammo in their rifle because the problem is with the rifle, not the ammo.

The anti-wolf ammo religious hard liners at arf.com grow everyday because they get tired of those cry baby posts by people insisting on shooting wolf and wanting it to act like the more expensive ammo.

Just accept it is cheap stuff and clean your rifle when you start to have problems and you will do fine saving yourself a ton of money.

Recite to yourself 10,000 times tonight after you go to bed (instead of counting sheep) "You get what you pay for" "Buy cheap, expect cheap" "you don't get quality ammo at wolf prices" "the money saved on using a few cases of wolf can buy you a new upper"

Don't shoot this crap if you have yourself a tack shooter.
