Nope. Primer changes, that is about all.
The TEXT BOOK answer is to start your load over and build it up, but I think we know where this is going.
Now you will get people coming in hating on SPP .45 acp. I agree, they need to LEAVE. .45 is SUPPOSED TO BE A LPP, not some damn prius sized primer.
Oh well... Give them to a friend that does not want to load large pistol primers or save them for a rainy day, but now you gotta check ALL of your primer pockets before priming...Last edited by stilly; 05-29-2014, 12:49 AM.7 Billion people on the planet. I load both spp and lpp for 45acp and have found no diffrence in accuracy, and use the same charge, but it is always recommended to work up when changing components. One of the benefits of loading spp in 45 acp is that I dont have to switch from spp to lpp on my press, not difficult but one less step.Comment

I too used to hate SPP in 45ACP. But over time I have collected quite a few.
I separate them out (of course) and I use them for my reloads that I take camping or plinking in the desert. If I pick them up or not, I don't sweat it too much.
I load the SPP and LPP the same.Comment

For the longest time I was just sorting and saving my small primer pocket Federal 45 ACP brass. Last year I was glad I did when I started to run low on large pistol primers. Using my favorite load of Unique under a 230gr LRN I could not tell the differance between the SPP and LPP loads.sigpic

That is actually the ONLY reason why I will keep mine around. I do not bother to prime on press anymore for the most part, but I do recognize that by only keeping or loading spp .45 you now only have to keep srp in stock and you can use theose to load up sp/sp45/sr and that is nice, but I only get about 1/7th now of my .45 acp being spp.I load both spp and lpp for 45acp and have found no diffrence in accuracy, and use the same charge, but it is always recommended to work up when changing components. So now you only need to be stocked up on 3 primers. (for the most part)
