NEED HELP WITH A RELOADING QUESTION

    Hi,
thanks for the help. i am posting a picture of the bullet in question, i am sorry if the picture is upside down, i dont know how to fix that.
Anyways, this bullet is part of a order of 2,200 30 cal machine pulled bullets, so they have marks and some of them are out of round. I have been told they are safe to still shoot, but that doesnt seem safe to me. The guy that suggested that shoots some big, high powered, truck mounted machine gun. I shoot a bolt action 30-06 and 300 win mag TC Dimension rifle (mulity caliber plateform) and a 30-06 Garand. Am I safe to use these? I have shot the round bullets from this batch with no problems. Obviously it would be difficult to make them perfectly round again, but if I use pliers I can get them somewhat round again just not perfect......thoughts?
    thank you

They prolly won't chamber because the oblong shape increases the diameter and they won't fit in the freebore.

      cool photo.

      I agree with J-cat.

Get a Lee resizing kit for the correct bullet diameter from FSreloading.com and lube the out of shape ones and push them through.

Do not use pliers. That MIGHT work, but it could be bad and could make them worse. It falls into the category of right/wrong way to do things.

Get that hornady case lube or make your own bullet lube though before you resize them. Afterwards you just clean them off and get to reloading... I bet it will work.
Bullet Sizing - The Lee Precision Lube & Sizing Kit is the fastest and easiest way to lubricate and size cast bullets. A 4 oz. bottle of Lee Precision Lee Precision Liquid Alox, enough to lubricate thousands of bullets, is NOT included. (by fsreloadin

I know that the bullet resizing is meant for lead but it might work for jacketed pulls like this as well. What would it hurt to try a few?

The lee die will work with the jacketed bullets. I use one to resize 50bmg bullets that were pulled that way
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

The Lee sizer will probably do what you want, but don't expect the bullets to give you super groups. Once you size them, you may have a problem with concentricity; the core may not be centered within jacket, causing the bullet to spin on an uncenetered axis. You should expect flyers and IMO, only use the bullets for 50-100 yard plinking.

Glad the vendor is going to make them good. Here is another source of bullet sizing dies, check for one that would reestablish shape without reducing diameter. http://www.ch4d.com/products/equipment/bullet-tools/bsd
