Come on Man, those 9mm guys will insist on a yardstick, not a ruler...

It is all ego driven.
The 9mm guys should have come out with their own set of rules that penile-ized (pun intended) the larger calibers.

The level of ignorance in this thread would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic.
Oh well you can lead a horse to water you can't make it think. If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.Comment

You guys have no idea what the hell youre talking about (yet you talk anyway).
There are only a handful of viable loads for Open USPSA. It has nothing to do with ego, there are trade-offs for every load and 9 major is quite popular because of brass availaility and various other reasons. Yes its a high pressure load, yes it should be loaded with care.
@OP, go to Brian Enos forum. There are tons of intelligent, experienced reloaders there who are usually pretty helpful. Good Luck, be safe.

Think about it. How many people did you actually interact with? If you disagreed with someone in person, you might get your face punched. You might be on the other side of the planet from me. Don't think your or my arms are long enough to hit each other. Whole new world. Truman was Pres when I was born....Old enough?Comment

First of all my comment was in jest. I was not referring to the 9mm major guys as egotists: I was referring to the 45 caliper guys. I also think the whole "major" category isn't useful for anything. A lot of police service pistols are 9mm and their ammo doesn't make "major" but the ammo does what it is suppose to do. There is more to a self defense cartridge then just being over a certain momentum.
I have some 9x23 which easily makes major, but I don't care about the "major" limit marker.

Lack of knowledge on this subject doesn't keep one from posting stuff like this....totally incorrect. 9mm major is very common, and guns don' blow up.
This posters comments should result in at least a one month ban. I can't imagine what it would be like having to deal with him as a neighbor.Last edited by bubbapug1; 05-21-2014, 6:28 AM.I love America for the rights and freedoms we used to have.Comment

You're right. There is more to self defense than power factor. USPSA is not solely based on pf, but on a balance of three things; power, accuracy, and speed. DVC. When choosing a division and caliber one must take these into consideration. This is a game, not self defense.First of all my comment was in jest.
