    Question .38 (.357)

My wife stopped in at Turners today being the great woman she is she was checking to see if they by chance have powder. She picked me up a couple boxes of Berrys plated bullets in 9mm and .38
I got home and noticed the .38s are also marked (.357) I checked my Lee book and see these are actually for .38 long colt.
(.358) should be the correct. But when checking Berrys products on the web nothing like that shows.
Are the the correct bullet for .38 Special +P and .357??

The bullet used in .38spl is .357 in diameter.
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

Thanks. My Lee book shows .358 but my Hornady book shows .357. Now I just need to get a Lymann book to really confuse me

I think the .358 are for lead bullets, not jacketed which are .357

Your gun determines what the diameter should be but did you measure them?

.357 is more suited to jacketed & match barrels - .358 is more so used with lead cast. but you should be fine I have loaded both... also IIRC a lot of swaged cast bullets are .357 as well

Generally a cast lead bullet will be .358" and a plated/jacketed will be .357". There are exceptions.

Turners has had bullets for quite some time in corona. THey had a lot of these BEAR CRICK bulelts taht were molley coated and they had others as well. I got some of the cricks and well, they seem to be okay...

                      Bullseye has bullets as well.

As for sizing. I size all my 9mm to .356 and all my 38/357 to .357 after they are powdercoated. And yeah, I am LOVING on the lead...

just curious; if you are "LOVING on the lead" then why powder coat it?

Dang, wish my wife would just stop by Turners to see if they have powder. Its hard enough to get her to the store to have her pick a gun out

Probably so his barrel doesn't get too much lead lovin'.

As others have states, you're good to go. The plated bullets are a bit of a topic for debate about how hot you can/should run them. The consensus is that you should stick to cast lead data but I've seen load data on the Hodgdon website for Berrys Bullets specifically that isn't that far away from jacketed data. (specifically 40 S&W using autocomp)

                              Enjoy!
