Picked up a mesh collapsible laundry basket (the round one) at Walmart for like 10 bucks. If you only expand one side, it sits flat on the table and catches brass like a charm. Doesn't work standing up, but awesome for bench shooting and works for pistols too. I'll take a picture tonight if I remember..."Never interrupt your enemy while he is making a mistake."

Although mine is black, heh. And it has velcro straps on each side that hold it collapsed... you just unhook one side and boom - brass catcher. (think frozen slinky right before it falls over a step).

I've tried the Caldwell strap-on but it kept blocking the ejection port no matter how I configured it. A buddy had one from CTK Precision and it worked great. We tried it standing and on a tripod or prone and on the deck. I'm getting one of these soon.

I use one on two ARs. It works great. Doesn't the block sights or interfere with a scope.Anyone try one of these?

I use a 3 Bucc brass catcher on my LR308. I thought it would not work well, because it does not fit flush (it's about a 1/2 inch away from the ejection port) against the upper due the the brass deflector being in the way, but it works like a champ. I leave the bottom open for the casings to fall on the bench.Comment

8.99 from ebay. works well.
There is actually a pretty entertaining thread somewhere on this site debated the legality of these "assault catchers". lmao.
I love using mine during annual range qualifications. All the other Marines look at it like "what the hell is that?? OMG, thats so smart"Retired AccountComment

I use the Caldwell as well, and the bend is the trick. The rear end tends to sag when the bag gets full, but slightly bending it at the velcro end so that it forms a slight V with the point away from the gun helps keep the wire against the deflector. After setting these up properly on both of my ARs, I haven't had a single FTE since. The only other drawback is some of the hot brass will stick to the nylon netting, and it won't drop free without a little help.Comment
