Decent low cost manual case trimmer?

If on a budget, I would get a CTS. I would never go back to a manual trimmer after going powered.

I am intrigued...test it out and tell us how it goes. For the price, if it's quick and easy I'd consider it for .223 (really the only rifle load I seem to load in batches over 100 at a time). Chamfer and debur is my least favorite part of reloading, so if I can cut that step out I'm in.

I use the Lee Deluxe Quick Trim for .223, .300 BLK and .308. Works like a charm. Especially for reforming the .300 Blackout from .223 which requires a lot of trimming. Trims, chamfers and deburs all at the same time and it looks CLEAN. It has a lot of feel to it too, you can feel it cutting then no resistance and you're done. I also like how you can adjust the trim length by .001 increments.

Before that I was using the Lee Cutter w/ Lock Stud mounted to a drill. What a pain. Had to use vice grips just to hang on to the damn cutter. Then the lock stud would get loose while the drill is spinning so I needed pliers to tighten the lock stud. And then I had to sit there and chamfer/debur. Ugh.

I like the lyman universal manual, but I hate trimming and plan to modify it for power, or just buy the power adapter.

Thanks for the suggestions. I looked at most of these and will buy the Lee quick trim dies as I already have a Lee single press here.

Seems opinions are all over the place for that rig, but if it's kept clean it should do fine. I only do maybe 50~150 .223's at a time so I won't need the powered rigs. Some of those crank trimmers cost $100, well out of my price range for this tool. Midway has the Lee die for $15, the .223 guides for $10 plus about $5 for shipping, a good deal to me.

I own 3 or 4 trimmers,
frankly there isn't a cheap trimmer,
you usually have to add on calibers/accessories
that drive your cost up

I have that other stuff from my work. I just have a bag of brass that needs a trim. If I ever need to reload quanities, my single stage press will be the first thing to be replaced. So far, my output is keeping up with my input.

I just used the CTS trimmer with my .308 cases. Did roughly 1k, worked great. The case lengths varied +/- .002. Lot faster and easier than my RCBS manual trimmer.
