Yet another LSD receipe question:

I did Lemi Shine and Dawn treatment on one fired shiny brass. Yes they were shinier than in picture.

After drying, I realized that most of the shells had some mark. Please refer to picture below:



The brass came out real shiny after wet LSD but bummer after drying

Any tips?

Did you do the towel wipe down or just let them sit and dry straight from the tumbler?

just let them dry in a box with holes. Did not wipe with a towel. I guess I should have wiped with a towel.

Yeah, it's more than likely leaving water marks.
Here's my method and feel free to use if you like.
1- spin in a salad spinner for a few minutes
2- dump on towel and roll around
3- leave in harbor freights food dehydrator for 2 hours
(Got the idea of the food dehydrator from someone else from another forum so I can't take credit for it. I did add a CPU fan underneath for better air flow)

i just did a batch using some Ergot and a centrifuge.... er i mean vinegar,water and a little soap and they came out great. i got the idea from a youtube vid and it really works good. using this method the brass comes out fairly shiny, but most importantly the inside of the case (which is really all that matters) comes very clean. just mix some vinegar water and a couple drops of soap and fill something up so all the cases are submerged. let it sit for a few hrs shaking or stirring it every once in a while. i let mine sit over night one time and the vinegar turned the brass funny colors. so i think a few hrs is enough. i put this mixture and brass in a small rock tumbler i have just so it agitates and it works very well.

It is a tubeaxial / generic:case-fan that can be bought from Frys.

I have noticed the same thing on some of my brass. Here's what I do to get rid of the water spots.

After all the soap and pins are rinsed from the brass, I place the brass in a bucket with warm water. Add a small sprinkle of lemi shine to the water/brass. As soon as the lemi shine is added the brass turns from that dark golden color to a light super shiny gold (almost like platinum). Then I dry them in a towel, place them in the oven or if it is sunny they will sit in the sun till completely dry.

The key is the lemi shine rinse at the very end. It makes a huge difference

not to thread jack but there are such things as 120mm CPU Fans..
in fact, I have TWO 120mm fans that are purposed solely for cooling my CPU.

Oh I see, I googled a CPU fan and it's different. Sorry, don't know why but I've always referenced "CPU" as computer.
Correction to all: as (energizer) stated its a case/computer fan not CPU. Thanks for the clarification energizer.

Maybe that's where I got confused, I have two 80mm fans on my leds on my fish tank. But hey, regardless of what fans you use, it helps with air flow.
