    44mag fmj bullets

Just starting to get into reloading, mostly 45acp and 44mag. My range only lets fmj or tmj ammo to be used. Is there a company that makes 240gr fmj bullets?

Xtreme makes a plated 240gr. bullet. That would work for your indoor ranges. Also more economical than FMJ.

This is true. They work great for target loads. True fmj bullets are available from some of the big manufacturers but, they are hard to find and expensive.

That is what I use for .44 mag and I use Xtreme 230gr RN for 45acp. I like them both.

Power Bond makes a plated (44 mag) 240gr Flat Point.
They shoot great, and you can load them the same as jacketed bullets.
They also have a cannalure on them so you can roll crimp.
I load them the same as I do Hornady 240gr XTP.

Indeed, they do, and they actually work pretty darn well.

These ranges, BTW, need to understand that by far the biggest lead exposure comes from the primer dust after the round is fired, not from the bullet. This is true even in the case that cast bullets are being used.
