Need more help :(

This really isn't my night it seems.

Was sizing some once fired LC 308 brass, a couple primers wouldn't pop out because of the crimps and then sizing one, and on the down stroke this happened..

I have NO CLUE what to do, any way to fix this or do I need a whole new die? Yes the case was lubed. Had done about 20 before this with no problem.

UPDATE:
Was able to insert the rod back into the die with the brass still on and then remove it on the down stroke holding the top with pliers. Is it ok to keep using this die? Think I'm going to put the rest of this brass to the side for now.

Yes you just need to tighten the nut that holds that decapping rod a little better. I always put a little anti sieze on that clamping nut so I can tighten it more without the steel burring up.

OMG... EVEN if I read this incorrectly, I still do not know HOW in the WORLD I could pull the handle on the downstroke and my brass ends up in a VICE.

Chuck it, You aint gonna be reloading that piece...

Please buy a press. PLEASE. And yes, it might be RED or green or oh god, even BLUE, but please buy a press and do it correctly. There is no reason why ANY reloader here should be trying to decap/resize like that...

But I have a lee turret press, only put the shell in there to try and remove the rod (with no success). It was when I was using my PRESS that this occurred. Vise only came into play for pic / attempted removal

Probably, resize another case and put it in a case gauge. You may want to consider getting a decapping die to pop the primers out before resizing. Especially on cheap dies, the decapping rod is a cruel joke, so if you deprime first, it's one less thing that can go wrong.
