    Darn those Dillon guys!

They did it again! Sent me free replacement parts for my 550. Started with a .45 ACP die set, a troublesome powder bar, and recently all new return springs. A couple of years ago they even rebuilt a friends 20 year old 550 press FOR FREE!. How can I expect them to continue to stay in business with all this great customer service!.

Why does their stuff keep breaking down? It's one thing to have that kind of customer service, it's another to have stuff that doesn't need repairing in the first place.

This type of service is probably why their stuff costs so much.

I'm probably just jealous because I'd love to have a 650 or three.

I bought both my 550Bs 2nd hand, the 2nd is an upgraded 450. I have had 2 minor things break, both times my email (which mentioned I had bought them used) was responded to with a replacement part at my door within a week free of charge and shipping included.

That's what made me save up for a 650, I knew it would last forever. It doesn't disappoint.

It is a weird dynamic. I'm not aware of any other industry that so freely sends you replacement parts on their dime, when the equipment is second hand, old as hell, or even when its the user's fault. Interesting business model for sure.

                Let's not complain! :-D

Dillon is certainly well known for their customer service, and the gear is certainly top-notch in the non-commercial (e. g. Camdex) world.

A guy at work said that he has a Dillon 550.

I am gonna see if I can get him fired...

Their customer service is now in the suspicious file. I am wondering why they work so hard to never give anyone a chance to think about why things break and I wonder if they are just trying to keep people happy so they do not stop and realize the big picture...

To be clear, the .45 dies I sent back were fine just me not setting it up properly ( they told me to keep the new ones anyway). Troublesome powder bar? Weak springs ( but geez Dillon I only loaded 50K rounds with them) again told me to keep the powder bar. They are even polite and helpful on the phone. Thinking about writing Mike Dillon a nice long letter with my concerns right away .

I have had my 650 since about 94 or so. I have loaded thousands of rounds on it from 45acp to 9mm. Until just recently the only part that has been placed were primer arm detent springs. I recently ordered another primer setup to speed up the conversion time. Dillion has had to move with the times. My old primer housing is some form of machined steel and the new unit is cast aluminum. I am sure it will last a long time. But then again it never really matters when you have a FOREVER WARANTEE.
