    Bad ammo or gun problem?

Took out a brand new Glock 23 for my ccw class and went through around 175 rounds. 1st day had about 5 misfires in 100 round of Magtech ammo. 2nd day I used PMC and had one misfire in about 75 rounds. Drove by the store I bought the gun and they said with the shortage of ammo, quality control hasn't been the best. These are at the bottom end of ammo grade but I just wanted to make sure I don't have a issue with the hand gun. Strikes were really good so I do buy his explanation. But if I did buy the top of the line ammo and had the same problem would it still be the ammo?

Hmm, the strikes ppear to be ok, MAYBE a lil light on the left two. Have you used this ammo in other guns?

Strikes look pretty far off center. Bet you can put them in another gun and they'd work fine.

Primer strikes are off center, not good at all, MagTech is junk, and those are reloads, all different head stamps and primers. You have some kind of junk ammo. None of those look like Glock strikes, should look like this. I have run over 350,000 reloads thru my Glocks over the last 22 years, and have never, ever, seen anything like that. My once fired reloads, notice the rectangular Glock strike.

Never had a primer not go in my 22 until a year or two ago. Every time I pick up the no-fire, racked out round, it lights.
Probably the gun with mine. However, the primers look like yours. You need to compare lit ones with the no-fires.

With strikes that far off center, there is no way the strike is over the anvil like it should.
            I vote gun problem.

except 95 out of 100 went bang out of crap MagTech, and 1 our of 75 new PMC, unless there was crap in the striker spot face, not likely a gun issue.

Clean the striker and the channel area.
You can check with a Glock store and see if there is an updated striker.

If the primer is not seated completly, the striker will move the primer and it won't fire.

I'd lean towards the handgun. Look how off center the strikes are....

Then why does he appear to have a rimfire glock?

Just because "most" worked doesn't mean a primer strike on the edge of the primer is not the problem. I doubt its the ammo. Can't fault the ammo for a primer strike like that. Its a wonder any went off.

But you wont get the rectangular imprint look until the round is fired and the primer flows into the firing pin hole. Those look like factory ammo to me. I think the Glock is trying to fire slightly out of battery. Might be a chamber problem. It looks like C.O.L is too long but with two different brands of ammo?

How did the rounds that fired look? We're the primer strikes off center as much as these are?

Like Enfield said. Do you got a piece of brass that did fire? I would like to see one of those...
