The ONLY drawback that I have really found, well a couple kinda, are the following:
If you do not have your mix set correctly, your brass might darken up a tad or take on a cool irridescent rainbowish color. Does not seem to affect anything, but they just do not look all shiny golden sometimes.
The other drawback is that it costs more to setup initially, but after you clean about 20k or more shells I bet the vibrators will end up costing more to keep running. I do not know how long corn cob or walnut lasts, but my ss pins WILL last longer then anything in a vibrator.
Yeah you gotta decap, but you can do it off press with a lee handpress while watching tv... I can do about 3k shells in about 4-6 hours.
If you buy the wrong sized pins or the wrong cleaning media (not ss pins but maybe shot or jeweler's shot) then you run the risk of getting thigns jammed in your flashhole.
Oh you do NOT want me to go off on my flashhole tangent... You gotta keep your flashhole clean... Nuff said.
Other than that, maybe drying them in a controlled environment like a dehydrator or oven is a bit much for some people. They ARE very easy to dry though...
Oh yeah, the only other REAL drawback is that you can not take the finished shells and dump them into your tumbler and let the corncob polish them all shiny.
Well, MAYBE you can with a thumler, I dunno and I have not tried it yet, I just aint too thrilled about primers bumping up against bullets and all surrounded by rice or walnut/corncob...
