Which powder trickler

Looking between the RCBS and this one http://www.amazon.com/Lyman-E-Zee-Un...ef=pd_sbs_sg_2

Anyone have experience with either? I like that the one in the link has adjustable height.

I have the RCBS... no complaints. The adjustable height looks like a nice feature but other than that I don't think there is any real difference between how either works.

I use the Redding powder trickler. I adjust the height by using a piece of wood.

I use the RCBS... never tried anything else, only purchased that because I needed a cart filler to make rebate minimums.

Works fine, I don't expect much difference between different brands, seems like a pretty basic operation.

I also have only used and own the RCBS. Built well. The base is heavy with a rubber grip. Works great for me.

It's a trickler.. I don't think you can really fail lol


Grab the RCBS and be done with it. Seen it work in 100 videos.


I still use a protein scooper with powder and tap it until I zero out.

I still use a herters -- 50+ years old -- works fine - cost a couple bucks -

FWIW the RCBS powder trickler 2 has adjustable height, but I don't even use the adjustment since I use a digital scale and its low.

LOL. I thought I was the only one who would admit to doing that. But, hey, I know that each kernel of H50BMG or 5010 weighs about .08 grains. So, it's easy for me to know how much I need to pinch for each load. How do you do it with the small kernel powders you use?

BTW, I touch primers with my bare hands too.

Now, as soon as the anal loaders can make it out of the fetal position to bash me, let the flame fest begin!

I just got the Lyman and used it last night to load my first batch on a single stage. It worked great, I liked that the height was adjustable.

Each kernel of Varget weighs .02 grains. You get pretty good at "metering" them quite quickly. Waiting for the scale to settle is the worst part. For a local match, plus or minus .02 grains is good enough. For a big match, it needs to be closer to the target number.

I have not used a trickler since being a newb reloader. It's just too slow.
