Okay, they are available and cheap. Will my STI 9mm reliably fire these?
    Thanks,

I do have problems with tula small pistol primers and light springs in my glock. Maybe 1 in 100 wont fire. People say its a seating depth issue.

Never had an issue with any of the Tula primers . They might require a tiny bit more force to seat it compared to others but it should go bang every time xD.

Tula KVB223 small rifle primers are GTG!
Never shot their small pistol though.

It once took me 5 times to fire a tula primer. I just kept pulling back the hammer and shooting again. The 5th time it went off and I was happy.

I had that same issue one more time except it only took me 2 times to pull the trigger.

People here said that I must not have sat the primer to proper depth and the extra firing pins strikes were pushing it in until it went off.

Well, about a month ago I found a round that had the primer sticking out about 1/16th or so, It was noticable because the round did not stand up right. I took it to the range, put it in the deagle and pulled back and fired once. It went off...

SO, Tula does make primers that can fail. But I have only had this issue twice in about 3k+ primers from them. I am very happy and I think they are excellent primers for the prices you pay.

the large psitol and about a 1/2 thosand wider than winchester and perhaps are a ahrder brass allow so they do need a little more push to seat fully.

I have used these to reload 223/5.56 with H322, H335, and W748 with no hang or mis fires. Just be sure to firmly seat the primer anvil to the bottom of the primer pocket.

Tula primers are harder to seat, especially large. 1 out of 100 that fails is 1 too many in a match. And it will always be the 1st round of a drop turner or clam shell.

I've had problems with that specific model (KVB223) in 223 (ironic no?). They're too soft so a fraction of a grain over the min load and they pierce. There is some luck involved (re: it does not always happen). But once one goes; it keeps happening (probably vents on the firing pin so its now hot enough to cause more damage in the next primer... than it otherwise would have).

After researching it; everyone says they're not recommended for 223. They seem to be the equivalent of Remington 6.5s.

Their other two primers are. The "Magnum" and "5.56" small rifle primers. People say they're gtg on 223.
