    Favorite .45 powder

Been using unique to load my .40 loads for a while and decided to give it a try when I started loading .45. I found 6.3 grains of unique to be very accurate out of my g21 although it is a little dirty I like how forgiving it is.
Just wondering what everyone likes for their .45 loads

45 ACP is such an easy going caliber to load. I have several favorite powders for it in this order: 1) W231, 2) AA#2, 3) Titegroup

          I use mostly Bulleseye.

W231 is my normal powder but recently I tried Ramshot ZIP. I was happy with it. I can't prove it of course but it seemed to have a softer recoil in my 1911 with the same muzzle velocity.

Unique is a great powder for most pistol calibers, I use it for 9, 38, .40 and 45. I used #2 for a while, very snappy stuff.

                      My two go-to's:

HP38 for primarily target pistol rounds

Unique for rounds primarily built for the carbine (make use of velocity advantage of longer barrel).

I of course can interchange when desired.

I use Titegroup and it meters really well in my Dilon 650. Ran 200 rounds in a class and the range and was fairly clean and really accurate with 4.5 grains and 230gr xtreme bullets.

                          I've used W231, HP38, SR7625, and Clays for .45ACP.

but by far my favorite is WST. Not only is it super clean, but for some reason the brass stays cool after firing.

I highly recommend you try it out.

I run a 20# spring in my 1911A1 with the following loads which are 100% reliable.

                            - Case mixed range brass
                            - 4.5gr of Bullseye or 6.0gr Unique
                            - Winchester large or small pistol primer depending on the case
                            - 230gr LRN or 200gr LRN-FP (cowboy)

                              Why such a heavy spring?
