Favorite .45 powder

HP38 and WSF are the two go-to powders for the .45 ACP using 230 grain ball. HP38 and W231 are identical. At least this is what I have been told by many others.

I currently have some Bullseye waiting to be loaded. I have read somewhere that the original .45 ACP 230 grain ball was loaded in front of the Bullseye powder.

I have also managed to get the REX-1 powder to work very well for the .45 ACP. I did this because I was fortunate to get a butt-load of REX-1

It would seem that the Bullseye has been around pretty much forever.

I get great accuracy with W231 and Berry's 230 grain RN and 185 grain HBRN bullets.

FMJ 230gr yes 5.0gr of Bulleseye work great!

for lead 230 round nose I like ~ 4.6gr of bulleseye and for 185 lead SWC 5.0gr of Bulleseye work great.

Can't find anything for pistol powder right now. I was lucky enough to snag an 8# jug of green dot so that's my new go to for the next 9,000 rounds.

GD is a very good powder for the 45ACP. Produces low chamber pressures..
