purchased moly coated bullets in error

Bought 500 .45 lead bullets from a calgunner only to discover that they are moly coated. I wanted lead with the usual lube but got these. I've read that using moly bullets in a barrel coats it and causes issues with jacketed and standard lead bullets. Load 'em and shoot 'em or put them back on the marketplace for someone who wants moly coated bullets?

Sell them unless you want to convert to Molly...
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Ehhhh, I've shot moly rifle bullets and even have Lyman's moly kit, allowing me to do my own.

I'm more agnostic on moly today, than I was back then, but I doubt very much that shooting 500 bullets is going to wreak havoc on your barrel, but if you don't want to shoot them, you can try tumbling them in walnut, in small batches, to get most of it off.

Soak them in acetone overnight, air dry and stick them in the tumbler. No more moly.

Pistol bullets? If so you can use them without any issues. The molly issues you are describing happens with rifle rounds. Pistol black bullets (like Bear Creek) only contain a very small amount of molly, the coating is more like a high temp plastic/polymer.

Load em and shoot em. Pistols and their relatively slow velocities do not care.. I've gone between traditional lead, moly, and jacketed with no issues.

I agree with this. Baer Creek moly bullets are excellent. Cleanup is so much easier then any other bullets I have ever shot.
