Bought 500 .45 lead bullets from a calgunner only to discover that they are moly coated. I wanted lead with the usual lube but got these. I've read that using moly bullets in a barrel coats it and causes issues with jacketed and standard lead bullets. Load 'em and shoot 'em or put them back on the marketplace for someone who wants moly coated bullets?

Sell them unless you want to convert to Molly...Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Ehhhh, I've shot moly rifle bullets and even have Lyman's moly kit, allowing me to do my own.
I'm more agnostic on moly today, than I was back then, but I doubt very much that shooting 500 bullets is going to wreak havoc on your barrel, but if you don't want to shoot them, you can try tumbling them in walnut, in small batches, to get most of it off.

Soak them in acetone overnight, air dry and stick them in the tumbler. No more moly.weg: That device is obsolete now. They replaced it with wizards.

Pistol bullets? If so you can use them without any issues. The molly issues you are describing happens with rifle rounds. Pistol black bullets (like Bear Creek) only contain a very small amount of molly, the coating is more like a high temp plastic/polymer."Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. All I use is Bear Creek moly coated bullets. Even in my Glocks with stock barrels. No leading what so ever. I think you got a bonus because there moly..Cowboy Action Shooter

Load em and shoot em. Pistols and their relatively slow velocities do not care.. I've gone between traditional lead, moly, and jacketed with no issues.Comment

i like the bear creek moly it actually works fine and when i fire fmj it seems fine i'm sure the copper washes any residue outComment
