Just took the plunge into 300 Blackout

I would go with 135/155 sierra match kings and take the 300BO out to a 200 or 200-500 yard silhouette rifle match, the Semi-auto forum guys believe it will outshoot the 7.62x39 cartridge at distance, they say a guy named Travis has shot it out to longer distances, personally I have never seen one out at 200 let alone 500 yards.
I shoot out at Chabot (200 yard ) Silhouette 1st Sunday each month, and 200-500 meter (prone/w/rest) military rifle Silhouette 3rd Sat. of each month
With an SKS and 7.62x39mm boltgun and would like to see if the 300BO can go out that far accurately, from what I read they are typically sub-MOA.Comment

what is your 762-39 boltgun if you don't mind my asking? plenty accurate at 500 yards for man sized steel?Comment
-
Yes, either one should work. Mine looks like the orange one.Is this the same as the HF chopsaw? I want to buy it ASAP since I don't want a jig for a saw I can't find.
OR is it this one?

17gr of H110 I was getting 1850fps out of a 16". 18-20grs I was blowing primers.Comment

Yes, .3 MOA accurate out to 600, dicey in the wind out to 800.
Certainly more accurate then my 1.5 MOA ar, and 1.7MOA sks.
Im still looking for AK/SKS/Bolt gun 7.62x39mm shooters who want to get off the 50/100 yard sniper lines and come shoot at distance.Comment

so..... CZ? Ruger? Custom?Comment

My best accuracy is with the 125gr Speer TNT. I've loaded the 135gr SMK and is is good too. I shoot the 100 yard at USI (benchrest) and consistantly .75 MOA (when I do my part) with my Noveske 16", 1 in 7 twist. I am using a 2-7 Redfield for optics.I would go with 135/155 sierra match kings and take the 300BO out to a 200 or 200-500 yard silhouette rifle match, the Semi-auto forum guys believe it will outshoot the 7.62x39 cartridge at distance, they say a guy named Travis has shot it out to longer distances, personally I have never seen one out at 200 let alone 500 yards.

My new club (Twin Sisters) has a 200 -365 yard line I am looking forward to trying this weekend.
The blackout is my favorite gun to shoot.if god didn't want us to have guns, he would not have given us trigger fingers~Comment

1.) Lee 300 Blackout 3 Die Set.
2.) Brass cutting jig... seemed to cool to pass up. I'll be the guinnea pig
Here we go!
1. I hope you used www.shop42a.com and not just amazon
2. plenty of people use that jig (which I might add you overpaid for on amazon, only $11 on ebay). I have that jig and it works well.

I also have the HF mini chop saw and was told it was discontinued. Once again I found it cheaper on Ebay with free shipping.Yes, he's the originator and has sold a ton of them, including one that I bought. You might have a hard time finding the chop saw but keep looking one will turn up. So many people buying the cutoff jigs were also buying the chop saws that Harbor Freight was caught with a low supply. Several members on the forum had their order money refunded and some were told it has been discontinued, which is not the case yet.Retired AccountComment

Holy empty bank account batman! I have spent a metric crap ton of money since "taking the plunge" into my 300 Blackout rifle...
1.) Barrel, gas system, handguard, etc = 400.00
2.) Brass for conversion = 60.00
3.) Bullets = 250.00 (on backorder)
4.) 8lb keg of Powder = 200.00 (should last me almost 3500 rounds)
5.) 5k Primers = 100.00
6.) Harbor Freight Saw = 30.00
7.) Cutting Jig = 30.00
8.) WFT 2 trimmer = 100.00 (My Lyman won't hold onto the brass well after 5k trims between my 5.56 and blackout).
This has all happened in 2 weeks. My wife would kill me if she found out!!!Comment
