    DUMMY ALERT!....RELOADING NEWBIE

Baby Steps: TOTALLY NEW ON RELOADING

First Step: Got me single stage decapper / deprimmer
Getting into case prep (wet) and would like to get input if I should get the
either a cement mixer or the tumble (Stainless Steel Media).

Second Step: Would like to do wet tumbling and trying to make up
my mind if I should consider the cement mixer over the SSMT (Stainless Steel Media Tumbler)

Third Step: Will eventually decide if i should go with the blue or red press
so far i am leaning to the 550b...anyone have more info why should I consider
    LNL please let me know.

Would like to reload straight wall 9mm, 40, 45 for now.

How many round do you go though a month? Most people are with small tumbler.

If you need to process enough bras to justify the use of a cement mixer as a tumbler, a 550b or the basic LNL AP will not keep up with the demand. That being said, the little harbor Fright tumbler that I have will easily clean 3,000-5,000 cases of 9mm, .40S&W, or ,45ACP a week. The Thumler's Tumbler will do more than that.

I am not going to start a "blue vs. red" debate. Both the 550b and the LNL AP are good presses. research the pros and the cons of each press, and pick the one that best fits your needs.

^^^ I do not think he wants to process "bras"??
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Cement mixers are appropriate for multiple 1050s

Get the Harbor Freight tumbler to start

Cement mixer? Why didn't I think of that.

(brother, that's overkill even for me).

As to the Dillon vs LnL (here we go again) I'm closing in on my session tonight of 1000 trouble free rounds of .40 on my complete POS LnL.

DAMN -G. You are doing almost exactly what I did.
While I was waiting to get my reloading press and other stuff, I got a Lee Hand Press and universal decapper. I knew that I wanted to go WET SS method for cleaning so I figured I would get a jump on the cleaning by decapping everything first. That worked out great. Then I got my BoLee and started reading, read it, understood, got the press, put things together and started reading more, talked to my friend, he told me about setting up dies and all. I tinkered a bit and got it all setup. I made 10 9mm cases with spm and Reloader 7 powder (115gr prn). Then I pulled 9 of those (because they were supposed to be ACCURATE #7, not RELOADER #7). I ended up dropping a 9mm bullet in the Reloader #7 container (forgot the bullet would fall out with the powder of the kinetic puller). Then I found some WST powder and made 50 rounds of WST with 115 prn in 9mm, shot them, had fun, then went to 44 mag, shot them, then upped the game and started looking for bigger and better 44 mag loads. Now I am up to speed on 44 mag loads, so I am making .45 and now I am tapering off of .45 and will start making some .40 in about a week or so... All on my Lee Classic Cast Turret...

BTW, I think you should start with a Lee Classic Turret press.

What if you get into reloading and decide that it is not worth it? What if what if what if... At least with a LCT you only have about $100 in it press wise. With the Dillon well, yeah anyways...

Crawl before you can walk (start with a single stage press)
Walk before you can run (start with a turret press)
Slow jog before you run (continue with your turret press)

The LCT is just a great slow-semi fast press to use...

                  LOL, Thumler aint babysteps.

                  China Harbor is babysteps...

If you go to Fleabay there are several folks that make tumblers similar to thumler, well, no, they AINT, but they are rotating tumblers that seem pretty cool. Before you commit to a thumler, you might wanna look on fleabay. They got powder coated frames and everything...

You don't resize and deprime before tumbling, just toss in the brass in the tumbler and when it's clean, start loading.

Yeah but he is eyeballing wet process and leaving the primers in would make a mess and not dry out very well.
