PACT quality?

I have there auto powder dispenser & digital scale plus a chrony built by them. Solid stuff!

I do not own ANYTHING made by them, but I have my sights set or it prolly for my next chrony. (yeah pun intended)

I give them a thumbs up because I have heard a lot of good things about them too.

I was looking at these units recently. Every review that I found was about three stars... About 50% of the peeps gave it 5 starts while the remainder would give 1. The caveat to this is I haven't seen very many current reviews.

I like a lot of the features, but am hesitating due to the reviews.

The thing with the reviews is that you need to be able to parse through and determine which ones are idiotic reviewers. I like when I see a crappy review, that concludes with stating they sent it back and were sent a new one and it was all great, but they still gave it 2-3 stars for the reception of a defective unit... WTFE.

Case in point. THere is a lettuce knife on Amazon, it is a large green PLASTIC SERRATED KNIFE. Supposedly you should use it to cut your lettuce and it will keep it from turning brown. Well, I bought it because I wanted to see what the hype was about. All of these jackasses giving it 5 stars because it REALLY WORKED were smoking something. I not only stated that in my review, but I also explained why lettuce turns brown. After thinking about it I still can not believe that I let these fools' reviews get ahead of what I know about science and I dropped about $7 or so for a stupid plastic knife. (which I still have because it keeps my bagels from turning brown after I cut them...)

Anyways, I can spend hours reading through different reviews on products based on the sites. I will keep plugging away until I get swayed one way or another. In the case of PACT, I have not used one so I can say a 3 is a good middle ground for them. I HAVE heard a lot of good things though. Well, that and the CED M2. Neither of which I purchased...

We need a chrony shootout. A REAL one where you get two-three chronies and put them end to end on tripods or a stand or table or SOMETHING and shoot through all three for each shot. We will know which one is lying because the fastest can only be the first and the slowest can only be the last and the middle must be in between, so if you line up several and get readings that match that across the board, it could be easy to tell which ones are more inaccurate and which are better when there are deviations...

Maybe when I am employed again... I SO wanna shoot my chrony in the face I am DIEING to get out there again after I have a job... Yeah, When I get a job maybe part of a paycheck will be to purchase about 7-8 chronies of different brands or models (pact, pro digital, ced, and all of those stupid colored ones, yeah I said it...), take a long table out with me and do a shootout. Every time one deviates from the pack then it gets removed until there is only 1 left... That will be my new chrony, the rest I will trade for brass...

ooh! ooh! And I can FILM it with EPIC music and make it all dramatic like and then put it on youtube with blaring rock music and pump it all up so that it looks like it was done by red jacket firearms...

6 of one, half dozen of the other I'd say. I've known people that swear by pact products, and some that hate them. that much leaves enough doubt in my mind either way to say that it's probably a safe product, meaning perhaps not the best, but certainly not the worst. the fact they've been around a long time suggests they must be doing something right. I'd say buy with confidence, and if you get a lemon, leave a crappy review!
