When someone asks me what gun they should build I tell them anything that Lapua makes brass for.
The small rifle primer handles pressure better than the bigger primered brass does so you can really step on the load when using Lapua brass. It is worth every penny.

Can't find where I read it so take this for what it is, hear say. Lapua brass is best suited for match grade barrels. In factory barrels with greater tolerances, they are susceptible to greater expansion. And, therefore, enlarged primer pockets.

Shooting Lapua in my 260 Rem with near max loads in a Savage, I find my primer pockets expand to the point where primers fall out in the reloading process before I start to see any cracks in the neck.

So, while I can extend the life of other brass like Norma, Hornady or Remington thru anealing, my Lapua's life ends when primers start falling out and jamming in the receiver.

I've tried Fed, (too soft), Rem(not consistent), Winchester, (thin case neck walls), and only use Lapua in my .308 5R. I won't use anything else for LR out of a bolt gun.
The primer pockets are perfect and the flash holes are centered also.
          YMMV

              Except for Nosler.

              Guys:
Lapua is okay, but my experience is that it's just a legend. I buy Winchester for most uses. But these days I'll use whatever is available when I need it, Remington, Nosler, Norma, Hornady, Starline, and the best bargain, Privi-Partisan. The Lapua I purchased wasn't any better than the others, had the same average number of defective pieces and raised problems of its own. If you aren't shooting a match environment and are convinced that Lapua provides some advantage, buy one of the other brands. I have never been convinced that brass is all that important in the equation anyway, but that's just me.
