so whats gonig to happen when the major lead mfg plant closes down and we cant get anymore lead core bullets as many of us reloaders use in our bullet heads? prices are going to go up if we are going to buy 100% copper bullet heads, let alone what about prices on factory ammo???

I'd post more but thats all we are limited to.
Crazyname, the Doe Run plant has no effect on ammo production. they dealt with producing lead for medical fields and others.
However, since no one seems to get that....there is now a lead shortage and prices are up to $15 a pound almost. I'd be willing to sell some to you at $10 a pound....

On the chance that you are serious and not well informed, nothing is going to happen. The plant that is closing only made lead for medical and research things. Lead for bullets is mostly recycled. Most bullet casters have an ample supply to avoid price spikes. Relax and skip the urge to hoard.Comment

Yeah but lead goes from the hospital walls and roofs to the recyclers, and from them to the bullets makers, and from them to us! This is terrible!not nearly enough...

By shorting out the hospitals with new lead, we will never ge their old lead, they will have to find other things to use, this will dry up the supply and now we will be forced to find different metals to shoot down the barrels because lead will cease to exist...

Well, I am pretty sure the USA doesn't make any computers, cell phones, TV or a lot of other things, the prices on those items hasn't gone up, I believe the opposite is true. So now we will be getting lead from China or Mexico where they don't have an EPA and they can burn all the dirty coal or whatever else the feel like to smelt the lead. I am thinking the price should be coming down.www.culinagrips.com
