new lee hand press

i just converted over to a hand press (gave my o-frame to a buddy i taught how to reload) that ive wanted for awhile now and was worried about people saying its a workout. what a bunch of panzies this thing is great! i should have started out with one of these years ago! i sized and deprimed about 300 mixed 357/38spl in about 15 mins with ease while hanging out with the family. sadly my wife bought it for christmas and said i had to wait to use it til christmas . im not a high quantity reloader nowadays so its not a negative in anyway. i dont speed through my reloads as im very particular with my loads, and have not felt much of a change in pace with it all. maybe magnum rifle rounds will be a bit more of a challenge.

all in all if you dont have one you should get one, will definitely make a great range tool as well. its built/looks great and lightweight and affordable. definitely a great buy!

I have a skateboard, a mountain bike and a car.

They can ALL get me to the Steakhouse 6.4 miles away but I prefer to use the car...

I have only heard that a larger effort will be needed to do .45 acp or larger shells, thus giving you a thighmaster workout...

Enjoy it though, I only use mine for decapping.

I bought one specifically for OAL testing. Rather than load 20 rounds with 4 different OAL's, load 50 rounds all with the bullet minimally seated (looks ridiculous in the MTM box) and head to the range with the seater in the hand press.

Seat 5 rounds at max OAL, fire. turn the seater stem down, press 5 more rounds down, fire.

Watch groups shrink, then open up. Stop. No wasted components. Die is set right.

i guess i shoulda mentioned when i moved back to cali this little house has NO room for reloading hence why i had to downsize.

so in my situation its like not having a garage or a driveway to park my car and theres no parking on the street 24/7 due to increased street sweeper schedules. so i guess you can say im happy with my new bicycle lol.

I have and sometime use the lee hand press but I must say I prefer the lyman 310 tooling --
The Lee is a bit awkward to manipulate at times.
The Lee, of course, has the advantage of being able to full length size.

Like you, OP, I live in a smaller dwelling with no garage or spare room to set up a reloading station. Sure, I could set up some kinda small table, but the wife would kill me if I left something out like that for all to see. I wouldn't want something out in the open either because of little ones running around. The Lee hand press fits the bill perfectly for me cause I can hide it and all my reloading equipment/components in a small case. Makes it really portable so I can take it out to some friend's house to show them how to reload, too.

I am truly sorry to hear that. But the good news is that Tuff sheds are on sale for 10%-30% off right now for demo models at Home Depot... Buy one, have them deliver it (free delivery up to 10 or so miles away or something) and then you can have a nice wooden framed reloading shed...

Until then, I guess you are gonna get some buff legs (yeah that was not literally speaking).

BTW, the bottle necked cartridges are gonna be like the freeway for you. Do not even THINK about getting on the freeway with your bike...
