Problems with a SDB with 9mm not sizing right

My Square Deal B has been humming along great. I went from copper clad 9mm to lead (still no problem), and then back to copper. When I did, for some reason the cases are letting the bullet drop down to the powder at Station 3 (not even seating them, they're just dropping all the way in), and I've even dropped the flare amount on Station 2 to the point where there's really no flare at all, thinking I was flaring them too much. It's as if the cases are being sized too large! Anyone ever run into this before?

Check adjustment on sizing die. It shouldn't be related to the case mouth flare. Other problem would be the bullets. Check diameter.

After sizing, take case out and see if bullet falls in. If it does then it's the bullet.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

The dies can't change size, check the bullet diameter.

You shouldn't drop down the flare... You need to bring it up ^^^

          There could be several things going on;

Are you certain that the sizing die has not been changed to another caliber?

Do you feel some resistance when using station one that indicates resizing is taking place?

Are you certain that you have the correct size bullets for 9mm (.355-.356)?

If the bullets are labeled correctly on the package, did you mic them to be certain?

I'm not trying to indicate that you did anything wrong, just asking some basic questions. I realize that some of these questions seem dumb, but I have seen a lot of stuff over the years and these pop to mind.

One thing.... You should be able to fire a pistol round... Take that brass and NOT be able to push a bullet in...

You say the are "dropping" in... By chance did you get some 115 grain 30 carbine bullets? They would be .308 diameter...

Also like stated above... Did you mistake the sizing die for say a 40s&w die?

Check your brass as well. Mixed brass has mixed dimensions. With the recent ammo scare, QC has pretty much disappeared.

My guess is on the bullets being mislabeled or meant for a different caliber.

I just tried a .355 XTP. It dropped right into an unsized R-P case but not an Aguila or WCC NATO case. Could be brass wall thickness or the chamber they were fired in.

9x19 is a tapered case. Maybe the flare opens it up enough?

Or any of the above. If the case is sized correctly and the bullets are the correct diameter they shouldn't be doing that.

I have the same problem with R-P brass 9mm cases. Nothing else. In fact, I pretty much hate R-P brass in general.

I also have more split cases with magnum pistol loads than any other headstamp. I'll bet you a buck that it's R-P brass, if all your other issues are correct.

My solution, Remington goes into the recycle bucket.

I use RP brass for .356" and .452" lead bullets. Works great. For jacketed & plated, not so much.

That's why I sort my pistol brass by headstamp.

                        I sort also. It's why I know R-P sucks.

                        I don't load anything but jacketed 9mm. My P7 doesn't like lead.

I'd be happy to swap ya for that RP brass if ya have it in .45ACP.
