Small primer 45 acp is an abomination.

Still I save them and donate them to my local club, Sac Valley. The once shot brass sales support the Juniors program.

Small primers have been very scarce the last few years and always will be somewhat scarce due to the fact that they're used in everything from .380 acp to .40 acp.

I buy my primers in 5,000 round cases whenever I can. My boys shoot .38 special in IDPA and go through 600+ rounds a month so I'm always on the lookout for Federal SP primer (CCI are to hard).

The only thing I load with large primers is 44 specials and 45 acp.

I reload both, I just sort and separate them after I deprime and size.

Save 'em up, polish 'em up, and make key chain ornaments out of 'em, or make your girl a necklace that shows her how you really feel about her. Pretty-Shiney.

They go into a coffee can on my initial sort. Once I get a couple of hundred, I'll reload for target shooting.

Picked up probably 2k range brass in the last few months, haven't seen but a few lately.

I've been tossing them into a "deal with later" pile but I've found very few. If I suddenly ran into a mother load of the things I'd reload a batch. You just never quite know what you're going to find at the range.

I'm new to reloading as we'll and I'm nervous about trying to stuff a LPP into a small primer case so I check and triple check every case to ensure the smalls are all sorted out. I have about 500 of them so far and plan to load them but only shoot them from my .45 revolver so that I can keep track of them separately.

I read somewhere that these were supposedly made to benefit striker fired pistols. True?

Ya know, during the last Great Primer Drought LPP was the hardest to find, followed by SPP. SRP was easier. You can use SRP in the SPP brass if need be.

Something to consider & the main reason my SPP pickups get stashed.

Of course, SRP is the golden stuff during this scare. Ya just never know.

Recently I was running low on large pistol primers but well stocked on small pistol primers and glad I saved my small primer 45 ACP brass, I sort them out into their own bin regardless of brand then reload then in batches of 50 to a 100, then start all over again, I cannot tell the difference between my loads using 6gr of Unique under a 200gr LRN/FP. I use the same 200gr LRNFP for my 45 ACP, 45 Auto Rim, and 45 Colt plinking loads.

Put it this way, if you give much more than the expected pressure and the primer isn't seating, stop. Don't force it. Not that big of a deal.

I save them all for a rainy day. Collected about 500 already.

I throw them in the recycle bucket. I have 10 gallons of empty .45 brass so no need to mess with converting them and I have a few thou primers of every size.

Yep i toss them as well. I have read mixing the spp cases are a potential kaboom when seating primers. Luckily i am not that ham fisted

Had one slip through my sorting and got into the machine and set off a primer. Oh how I detest tjos spp 45 at times
