    Tula small pistol primer reliability?

I have Wolf LR and LP primers and I'd have 1 or 2 duds out of 100 even when I crush the primer when I seat them. Does anyone have any experience with Tula small pistol primer's reliability?

    WOOHOO!!!

    FIRST!

I have had almost 0 failures with all of my Tula LPP that I have used for the 44 mag. Only ONCE did it take 5 strikes to set off the primer. I have loaded close to 3000+ rounds at this point. Also, for what it is worth, I put a primer in the 44 mag that was sticking out abot 1/2mm from the back (enough to topple the shell when you set it down) and only one trigger pull was needed to set it off. Today I think I am going to load up another few hundred rounds with my new PC-aqua bullets in the .45 and using Tula LPP.

If you are having a 1% failure that is not cool. Either you got a bad lot or maybe you are doing something over there... excessive oil/water in shells perhaps? I guess it could be worse but anyways...

I love Tula, and for the price, well, I love Tula.... Their ammo may suck but their primers rock...

Mine are Wolf I bought about 3 or 4 years ago... I really shouldn't call them duds. they're duds to me if it takes more than 1 strike to set off. I've had about 2 or 3 real duds out of about 4000 rounds so far.

I used over 10K of these and between me and a few other reloading buddies we have used over 25K of these with zero problems between Tula and Wolf SPP's

I'm going through a brick. I've had a few problems, but I have a new press, so I can't attribute the problems to the primers fairly.

That said, they *are* hard to seat, and on that reason alone they'll be my last choice in the future. Well, unless they're insanely cheap I guess. I've been switching between them and Fedeeral, and the Fed is so much smoother.

I wonder if the tight fit can cause problems with misfires. No conclusions, but it's in the back of my mind.

I've only had problems in my Glocks with lightened striker springs. They are a harder primer and seem to need stock striker springs to be set off in Glocks. Otherwise they're great primers. My G22 with raced out trigger will fail to set off about 1 in 50, whereas my stock carry Glocks have no problems whatsoever. I don't find them any harder to seat in my Dillon either.

I have been using Wolf LPP for some time & the only issues that I have ever had with the was no fault of the primers but of my gun, replaced a spring & firing pin and haven't had a problem since.

I just started using the Tula SPP & I am hoping to have the same luck.

I've gone through loads of their SPP without issues.

ok from what Ive heard and have had experience with is that the tula/wolf primers have a harder casing and are harder to push in to the primer pocket. Most ftf that have happened are from the primer not being set all the way in thus why after the first try they usually fire the 2nd or 3rd time because they get pushed further in with each hit. They are actually a very good primer

I don't use Tula anything purely because they are commie made.

I had zero failures out of 1000 lpp.... I had 3 or 4 failures out of 1000 spp.... Less than 1% failure rate, still worth it....
