    30-30 crimp

anybody know where I might find a crimp die for 30-30 locally (Bay Area)

I wanted to start loading these this weekend, only to realize that I never ordered the Lee FCD, I prefer to crimp separately.

I know that I can order online, though I am trying to avoid it as I still want to attempt to load this weekend.

    any ideas?

Your die set should have every thing you need

I like to crimp as a separate step.

I was thinking about just pulling the seater plug & resetting the die.
      though trying to avoid that.

.30/30 why the hang up just adjust your bullet depth 1st then back off your stem then adjust your die body for crimp then reset your bullet stem then go shooting.

Seems to me the crimp type may depend on whether you are using plated bullets or jacketed type with a cannelure. For jacketed a roll crimp is fine, with plated, the Lee FCD may be desirable. I am no authority though, just my take.

High powered rifle don't think he's talking about lead.

If this is a serious question you really need to hit the books. You might want to invest in a good life insurance policy too for the family.
If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.

Non sense to both henny penny and chicken little --
There is no real need to crimp a 30-30, nor is it unsafe --

Tube mag can be different with the cartridges stacked nose to butt you can have enough weight moveing around pushing bullets into the case under recoil changing the pressure of your load.

because it is my gun, my ammo & my face right next to it.

                          and for peace of mind.
