With respect to THE 2 MEN YOU MENTIONED.. NO I'M NOT EITHER..

Just to clarify some things for you, very simple.. The 6BR you referred to has ancestry leading back to what European country, what 6MM cartridge and why is it still considered a hunting round in Eastern Europe. How did it evolve as a competition bullet and how many variations came from it. My elders use to shoot this particular round for medium game and still do.. So what 6MM cartridge sparked this American Bench Rest Revolution. Mind you the 260 Remington and the 6.5X284 existed in the US..Ole boy Kennedy was assassinated with a 6.5X284.. So. 6MM, 6.5MM. 6.5Xwhatever.. How did this come about, I still have rifles that shot these before any of us were born..

I guess you have "proven" to us that since you came from a long line of ancestral sharpshooters, you have inherited the capability to shoot less than 1/6 MOA out to 600 yards. I guess anything is possible...

Most modern cartridge is based on 4 or 5 parent cases (just like 338 Lapua is based on 416 Rigby). However, due to more modern bullet design and manufacturing method, modern cartridge is capable of better performance then the "good ol days". I think we can both agree that without a doubt that modern cartridge fired from a modern rifle is much more accurate than ever before.

BTW, JFK was not assassinated with 6.5X284 (6.5 Carcano is not even a parent case for 284 Win nor does 6.5x284 share the same bullet diameter). I am familiar with Carcano as I own and reload for it, and for best accuracy a .268 RN should be used.

In the end, my question stands "either your are a crackshoot, lucky, or story teller". So far, I am hearing a lot of "stories"! Let's not continue to muddy this tread with unrelated post. If you feel the need to further discuss on this topic, feel free to start a new tread!

No need I'll get right to the point, The story teller crack is Ok. I agree with most of your response. You did not answer were the 6mm,6.5mm came from, That's Ok. I am fully aware of the 338 LM history. Good luck to you. I am going to leave it at this with strong advice from other CALGun members and my Elders..
Thank You In Advance for your input..

6mm, 6.5mm, etc... is just the diameter of the projectile. It says nothing about the shape or construction of the projectile. Projectile design and manufacturing from a 100 years ago is not comparable to modern projectile.

As Carl Sagan once said "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence."

This will be my last response to you in the thread. If you want further discussion and put all doubts to rest, start a new thread with proof of your claim, and we'll all congratulate you on the good shooting.

and YES, I am "calling you out"!

So why are you posting then?
            “Why didn’t anyone say something?’’

This type of question usually comes from the victim’s families at funerals and television news interviews shortly after some sort of predictable calamity occurs. See the above quote similarities, J-Cat?

“What about corn cob dust becoming nitrated and altering he burn rate of the powder, OMG!!!”
J-Cat, you mentioned the word, ‘dust’. Are you still in a comical mood? Go ahead and Google sugar dust or grain dust for us. Hint; add the keyword, ‘Explosion’ in your search. Maybe afterwards we can all have a good laugh.

I made the statement that no Reloading authority prescribes introducing harsh cleaning solvents in the Reloading procedures. What is your response to that statement, the above attempt at “OMG!!!” humor? I myself can justify all sorts of dangerous activities. We should get together and compare notes.

And people wonder why industry is being hampered with policies and safety procedures.

                Stop it.

People been doing things for years and here you come telling them it's unsafe when you have no idea if it is or not.

I remember people years ago claiming you should handle primers with gloves because trace amounts of oil from your skin could contaminate them and render them useless. I tried to deactivate a primed case using WD40 and it did not deactivate anything.

                Fear from ignorance breeds mediocrity.
