VV 3N37 Loading for .45 ACPI normally use W 231 for both 9mm and 45ACP, but have used

I normally use W 231 for both 9mm and 45ACP, but have used all my stash. I was able to buy some VV 3N27 and have gotten good results for 9mm, I can't find any data that provides a loading for .45 using 3N37. It seems that it isn't an obvious choice looking at loadings for the other VV powders, but surely there is a load that is acceptable, if not optimum. I typically load 20g LSWC or 230g plated RN. Any help out there?

Tried VV website, they only have one load for .45 using a 200g FMJ bullet and 6.5g of 3N37. I would need to back that down in order to use either 200g LSWC or 230g plated RN.

    Thanks. Kevin

    Been to VV's Website?
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

      20g as in 20 gram? ! 230gram? !

I am sure you are saying 200grain and 230 grain correct?

According to BoLee, on page Hmmm. Odd I typed in 3n37 .45 acp and it gave me a critical error and closed itself...

Here is an idea, go buy some HS-6 and be done with it. That stuff is all over the place and works like a champ.

Or you could play with some of these:

      230 FMJ 5.7-6.6 Will load 6.4 OAL 1.26 Hornady

      Somewhere lists 230gr being 6.3 - 8.1 powder.

SO, I bet if you checked what I am saying about that and loaded a .45 acp FMJ or plated at 6.3 and went up with an OAL of 1.250 you might have a decent 1911 load.

But PLEASE check your data. You could prolly ALSO translate that over to a 200GR bullet as well, but maybe with a tad more powder.
      just saying...
