Last night I was in a role and was finishing my 223 loads and priming the last 300 of my batch.
Anyways I got in a grooves and was priming with good time and one felt weird. Took a look at it and say I seated one sideways. Deprimed it and saw one side flattened out slightly.
I reseated it and it looks like it rounded it self out again. It's not a perfect fit but I was expecting it to have a gap but it looks like it is seated. My question is is it dangerous to shoot this? I didn't take a picture so obviously you guys can't speak on my spacific primer but danger in shooting a not properly seated primer?
Only thing I've read about blown primers is it can jam actions with the ejected primer. But I feel it could damage a rifle or be a little more dangerous than that. Can anything happen to me or the rifle or is a semi seated or non perfect primer just a chance of a jam with no danger of damage to me or the rifle.
I will post a picture of the primer when I get home so you guys can say yay or nay.
But this just got me asking is there any danger in a bad primer or pocket? I feel no but then again yea.
Thanks
